Thought this would be another one of those generic wanna be reverbs.
    How wrong was i.
So much heart and soul in this one, beautiful.Adds dimension and weight.
Pianos sound more real.Anything will sound more serious and real, vocals,synths,drums....
You can play with several settings.Drive,Analog, etc and the wet/dry settings to get just the right amount of reverb you need.Less is more but with this reverb even more doesnt sound artificial like with many reverbs.
Reverbs and mastering reverbs is the key for a serious professional production.Mastering reverbs is in my opinion the hardest thing to learn but its important that you work with the best the industry offers(Altiverb,Abbey Road, etc), poor reverbs can really destroy your production.
If you demoed it let us know what you think, if not demo it, you wont be sorry.

    I like that one!
But grabbing more and more after Altiverb or Air (Studio Ones) with some nice plates pulses from waves with some eq cuts in low and highs ... getting closer everyday ;)

    Cheers

Poor reverbs do nothing by themselves.
You can destroy your production using wrong reverbs.
But you may make a great mix using a poor reverb.
All that old famous machines of the 80s had to use ridiculous low computing power with simple algorithms. But we got used to their sound and learned to like it and call it "industry standard".
For some years now native reverbs have been as good or better than all that pre-Atari-age hardware
    imho.

It's more about knowing how to use simple tools than buying a magic weapon.

Just because it has a fancy vintage UI & is hyped much, doesn't mean it sounds goot.

Try also BREVERB2, very comprehensive & goot-sounding algorithmic reverb light on CPU.

Also, the mcfx EQ. No (custom) GUI, but it does the job and is very light on CPU.

I've been dying to try this sense it was released, but I can't get it to open. This actually happens to me with most of the newer Waves plugs. Although its been a couple releases since I've tried.

Those hardware "pre atari " reverbs are the real deal my friend, you are now talking nonsense.

Have been using this for about six months and love it. I either use this or the Eventide TVerb for most things.

You need to go to Waves.com and look at the requirements for Waves Central. There is a Windows update that you must have for the plugins to open correctly, and also the new Waves plugins only work on 64 bit systems for Windows.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm on a 64 bit system so I'll check out the update.

Still disappointed that I can't find a decent hall reverb sound via Lexicon PCM, which was what I was hoping to use as my main go-to reverb. IK's CSVerb comes a little closer. The perfect reverb plug for me remains Arboretum's Hyperverb ... too bad those guys are out of business (and the plugs never even made to 32-bit UB/Intel).

I'll have to try out Abbey Road Plates. The Waves reverbs have always been hit-or-miss with me, but I have the latest install, will have to mess with it.

Valhalla is good stuff, but its something that doesnt sound quite real its more of a reverb fx for doing stuff you can not do with other reverbs.
Abbey Road has a totally different character, its a more personal intimate, warm reverb.

  17. Please someone educate me as I am probably wrong, but wouldn't the expertise of the actual recording of a stereo impulse response; the placement of the microphones, the quality of the mics and preamp used and even more so the room itself (lIke a certain room in the world's most famous recording studio) weigh more heavily than the software used to play them through it? Is there a great difference between let's say, Fruity Convolver and Breverb2 and Altiverb, those engines behind the GUIs, or are they just pretty pictures with varying degrees of control of eq, compression and other tweaks that could actually be used seperately in your own personal chain of plug-ins ? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Its a big difference.Convolution reverbs are more close to the real thing than algos.
Instruments with convolution have more depth, tails dont sound as artificial as algos, they just sound more realistic.
Altiverb and Nebula reverbs are on the top of plugin reverbs.
Another thing with algos is, you will spend a lot more time finding the right reverb and then editing it, they are harder to work with.
People here claiming theres no difference, that its not important which reverbs you use, clearly dont understand the importance of reverbs in music production.
