I having issues with Kontakt and custom NICNT files. I am creating the SNPID and for the most part they work just fine. Every now and then i am getting an error that says the library needs to be added, and to click add library (which i am paraphrasing of course). Anyways i am at a complete loss as to what to do to correct this. Any suggestions?

You probably need the license for that library. Yesterday i was installing the new Kontakt with Keygen (not the old scheme) and to add Gospel Neo Soul Keys i had to generate a license, THEN import it on Kontakt, if you don't do that way, you'll get a nice ACTIVATE button. wich sucks right?
Same thing with The Gentleman, generate license, install and it will show up in the Library tab on kontakt.

About other librarys i got some Rhythmic Robot like Lorenzo, Soviet Organ and they went in without a license. (maybe they don't need them...)

And if you're faking some info on Kontakt it may be seeing it as a to be licensed library as Neo Soul Keys.... i just guessing anyway...

 

If HAVE to make a custom .nicnt for an official library (which I don't recommend doing) which already has an .nicnt, use the same SNPID number.
There are lists around these parts or you could just open the .nicnt file with notepad.

For .nicnts for third party libraries, use an alpha-numerical scheme e.g C16, c27.

Use TRACER's Homecooked TinyTools SNPIDLocator to find if you have duplicate SNPIDs using the SNPID of the library you are trying to add. Make sure you hit the 'CHECK' button and not locate. It also has to be run as admin.

 

they're libraries i downloaded. Case in point I'm having issues with Umlaut audio ARPS. I found a zip file with a photoshop wallpaper template and also found a bash script (i guess u call it) whereby you type addkontakt in terminal and it creates the .nkx .nkc and nicnt file for you. Also anyone got a link for that Homecooked SNPID Locator?

The official SNPID for Umlaut ARPS is 074

You could remove the library form Kontakt. open the custom .nicnt you made/found for Umlaut ARPS and change the SNPID to 074 then try adding it again.

 

Just out of curiosity, MUST the SNPID be the "official one?" Also is that for a MAC?

 

No. Some libraries work just fine with different SNPIDs and some libraries will work and then disappear when you relaunch Kontakt.
Some don't get added at all.
I recommend using the official whenever possible. I've been able to add every library I want this way and using alpha-numeric SNPIDs for anything unofficial/custom.

Ok so when trying, say Balinese Gamelan, and it throws the library not found error. How do i delete it all together and try correcting the SNPID? Delete the .xml in service center as well as the .plist right?

 

Removing the library from Kontakt should get rid of the .xml and .plist automatically
Remove them if it doesn't. But it should.
Also remove whatever library is using the official SNPID for Balinese Gamelan
The official SNPID for NI Balinese Gamelan 1 is 408.
Soniccouture's Balinese Gamelan II is 618

OK i found a list and found the SNPID for Vocalize to be 621. I though i made the corrections in the service center .xml, and the two .plist files. reopened Kontakt and still the add library error. Any suggestions? I'm a noob to this forum so i just will put the screenshots for the nicnt and created XML files. HELPPPPPP lol. Thanks tho.

 

I think you might have another library with a custom .nicnt using the 621 SNPID. Once you find it, remove that and add the Vocalize library. Create a new .nicnt with a different SNPID. Try to find one for a library you'll never use. Or make it alpha-numeric.

Remove the library from Kontakt and add it again instead of editing the .xml and .plists
When you add a library, it automatically generates those files.

That's Heavyocity Gravity Pack 02 Vocalise. I have that library. I didn't make a custom .nicnt and my SNPID is 691.
