Hmmm... just tried it out on a final mix wave. The music is spacey, ambient, synth beds and I'm hearing jaw-dropping clarity. Tracks which i thought had gone deep into the mix are now clear to hear. But the drawback is it's making my beds pulse and throb when they shouldn't. Maybe I'm not using it correctly and maybe it's not the right mastering EQ for my genre. Can you recommend the best mastering plugin or EQ to use for spacey ambient.

 

Then use it as a send on only selected busses.
Also try setting 1 or 2 for mixbus.And play with the input/output and drive,sometimes less is more.
Acustica makes amazing mastering EQ.White 2.
You can demo it for a month.

 

I couldn't find a mac version and they don't even sell it anymore in the website.

I love nebula stuff so I've tried to extract the EXE files with keka but no luck

Any other ideas of how to obtain the Vectors and Programs out of this 2 gems ?

Ive been using TAN from them but only the preamp section. Found its way into a mastering chain for more flavor before the limiters. I dont even engage the compressor, I just hit the switch and magic happens.

 

great pre on that one too... Fat ina good way ;) Pull up Nebula and grab Henry Olonga pre's Best pre's of any Acustica Nebula library ive ever used an ive used em all... Try His Bus presets this mans a Genius i call it like i hear it... Also try>>> STN Powered Bus>>> its a Gem... Time Petherick is another fav ... I used Guitar cab Impulses to do pre production in a hurry recording but a few years ago i started using nebula Impulses and i cant use anything else now that compares sept a mic and amp ;) Some of the Nebula cabs are like any impulse you have ever used you just gota find the one's that work for you but i promise wen you find your go to Nebula cabs everything else sounds like cheese in comparison \m/ REAL TALK use em and A/B with any other impulses on the market or better yet compare with a good mic and amp recording will tell all

i know man its a good thing for us that know what good can come from somthin so inexpensive too some people think of good sound with only the $ sign and its a true placebo effect for them too haha... Good gear is Good Gear $ is Errelevent to me with what pleases the ear's ;)

Thanks! I just rediscovered trinity and Olonga/Nebula. When I tried trinity before I was just looking at it as another eq and didn't use it in context. When I tried nebula I had no idea what it really was. This was all before I was enlightend about the real character of good emulations.

Seriously guys, if you're only tasting free Acustica Audio plugins, or the ones in the sister site (which use much older technology), you don't know what you're missing ;)

I'm mixing an entire project just with SAND, and it's an absolute beast. The buss compressor is crazy good. It's on preorder for 120€, and you get the channel strip (shown above), and also independent VSTs for each sections which helps tremendously with CPU saving. So... 120€ = 2 EQs (SSL 4k & 5K), 5 different preamps, and two compressors ( SSL G bus comp, and a hybrid design). Not bad at all, I'd say.

Here's a little demo for you guys. I'm no expert at mixing by any means, just a little teaser:

Wow, thanks for all the heads up on great plugins. Never knew Acustica Audio was such a bad ass developer. Very keen to check out VoS' stuff as well but the SAND does look like a must buy. Gonna download the demo so long.

But how do these emu's compare to Slate digital's stuff?

 

Slate is very good imo, but Acustica takes it to the next level in every possible way.

 

What about UAD plugins? I know people go gaga over UAD's emu's. Jees, the amount of times I've read "nothing compares to UAD's [insert plugin here]
