Whether you love 'em, hate 'em or really have no charge either way, KVR and their KVR DC 2016 is upon the horizon, and for those new to the world of synth and effect plug-ins or just have not heard of it, the competition centers around downloading new free instruments, effects and soundware that are voted on by KVR members. There are always some super offerings to be had such as FerricTDS by Variety of Sound, Triple Cheese by u-he, FMMF by de la Mancha as well as a slew of others, some great as well as those not so fantastic. When I came back to recording six years ago this competition was for me a wonderful resource to dive into the world of "in the box" production. Looking forward to seeing if u-he rolls anything out. Usually vladg of Limiter 6 fame makes a contribution as well

 

On a side note, Vladg is working on a module version of Limiter°6 with drag and drop so that one could change the order of each part of the chain, ie, the clipper in the beginning before compression or limiting, etc.

 

Man. I love those glasses. Are they any good for driving? Let me rephrase that. They might be good for my passengers whilst I'M driving!!

 

When I wear these glasses I can both be aleep and awake at the same time. I can't exactly explain the science behind it but I might try to translate the experience into a musically approachable idea in order to share it. In this way I wouldn't constrain myself to any particular genre. Can you imagine trying to mimic the superliquidsunshine psychedelic team tangerine green-rimmed eyeglass experience within the bounds of a disco paradigm?
