I know its hip and trendy to hate the USA, but the skepticism (justified) is based on FACTS. Go look at Tesla's own financial statement.

Its also ironic how you accuse others of being xenophobic when no one even mentioned his South African origins. You call others xenophobic in one breath then bash Americans in the next.

Then you go on a wild tangent about things unrelated to Tesla. You can go on ignoring the writing on the wall at Tesla, just don't bash a whole country while you're at it.

No, I am not Russian, not even close. I am not even an America hater. I do not hate America and its otherwise wonderful original Constitution, but I hate what America is becoming to while all I see is that its populace is not only doing nothing, but mostly being complacently dumb similarly as it is in the film titled “ Idiocracy”. It is in fact very sad.
By the way, there is a huge difference between “consummate bullshitters” and Elon Musk. Elon already did a few amazing things proving he is not bullshitting while "consummate bullshitters” are usually just doing that, the bullshitting.

Honestly, I don’t have to bash Americans and/or America at all, as you guys are doing it to yourselves.

Unrelated to Tesla? We are talking about SpaceX and Elon Musk and not Tesla! However, what I was referring to in my reply on the many things that I brought up is related to the rampant mentality lurking around Americans like a plague that is in fact immensely affecting the attitude towards real advancement, hence my point.

I think he is consummately bullshitting right now.. the Mars thing is a distraction so people don't focus on the big waste
of taxpayer monies subsidizing an overpriced elitist commercial product, that, if @GODSanAI is correct, is not the financial success that would justify a dubious and ridiculously costly "Mission to Mars"

Let Mr Musky earn his trillions and finance the whole project him- SELF, then I would applaud !

    @onekutcha

ohh I see Tesla has absolutely nothing to do with the "Mission to Mars" ..it's all based on
his monumental success.. with. umm Paypal? come on man.. can you do better than that?

but what do I know.. just another American idiot

Lenin and Stalin and Hitler were consummate bullshitters..and look what they "achieved"
these things are not reflexively positive nor mutually exclusive

Innovation, even through huge struggle is still better than bean counting stagnation through lazy complacency. And at least he is not spending trillions on wars supported by the idiots of the US.

For the first batch of guinea pigs, it's a one way ticket. You cannot think of something like this, sell it as a vision and not embark on the first ship. Imagine Eriksson, Columbus, or da Gama making a fuzz and then when it comes to departure telling the captain "ok, as I said, it should be somethere that direction. good riddance!".
So as much I like Musk and his willingness to throw a shitload of money on unconventional ideas, when it comes to exploration you're either the man or a loudmouth.

Lenin, probably was one. Stalin, sure. Hitler and his regime however supported the best German scientists developing the basis of rocket and space technology the entire space industry is building upon today.

yeah I wonder what an interplanetary Musky man would look like upon return..
he would have a nice glowing precancerous tan at least from all that stray radiation

non sequitur... the Germans would have been good at technology had Uncle H never even existed...
don't resort to rank douchebaggotry... try again..not only that, now you sound a bit fascistic

If anyone could design a finely engineered Mars craft I suspect the Germans could,
leaving Mr. Musky in the dust

Really? So it wasn’t Hitler who had the idea of the German Autobahn? It wasn’t Hitler who figured out that Germany should depart from the International Banksters and print her own money eventually elevating Germany from monstrous poverty to world super power in a matter of few years? It wasn’t Hitler who had the idea of declaring human contribution as for the value basis of the German Reich Mark that eventually created a German workforce where there was no Unemployment? I could continue on… so you try again.

Are you afraid to die? Everybody dies, but I would rather be on a one way trip like this mission and experience something you can’t even dream of. It is our experiences we take with us when we die and never forget that it is not exactly about how long you lived, but how you lived that matters more.

People should not ever forget that every milestone innovation has first started with a bold idea!

By the way, about Godwin's Law. Evidently it wasn’t me who brought Hitler and/or Nazism into this conversation and I personally would have never brought this up under this topic.

Oh, so by simply answering you - as you have brought Hitler into this conversation - and stating historical facts now I am being fascistic? Hahahahahah….
