    Nice, you nailed it. Some of those late 80's sounds where fantastic. Unfortunately I'm old enough to remember them ;)

    It sounds like it could be a good track. I would think carefully about the arrangement. All the sounds are there, just needs a bit of light and shade to keep it interesting and not too much repetition. A vocal would work well. It has an 80's sound but I don't actually recall 80's songs sounding like that, its more 80's through modern ears or 80's incidental music for films or interludes.
