I will only update mine (from 5.5.0.409 after reading something about it...despite all the good releases, nay, AWSOME releases by R2R

 

instead of being a follower in life ! why not try on your own

 

Changes in Kontakt v5.6

• The user interface has received a major update, bringing it line with the latest NI designs.
• Developers can now maintain precision even in use-cases involving complex math, with the introduction of a new variable type for real numbers.
• Going hand in hand with the introduction of real numbers, a library of advanced math functions has been introduced. Trigonometric functions, logarithms, exponential functions, etc., will allow for more easily readable code and lower memory footprint.
• Maximum width of instruments raised to 1000 pixels and maximum height to 750 pixels.
• New command to set an instrument’s color, including its header.

Works very well, I've been able to authorize all of my sample libraries and I absolutely love the new interface.

 

Since all the problems with lot's of libraries with version 5.5.2 I'm weary of new versions...

 

I am holding off on 5.6. I just read all 9 pages from the NI forum, and what I'm hearing doesn't excite me in the least.
Like Apple, they have changed or removed several key features, and Mac/PC install problems, libraries not showing up, etc..
GUI issues.. "wait and see mode" <-cloak on->

 

So blindly installing a software update, cracked by R2R or otherwise, without giving any thought as to whether or not it might compromise the functionality of the working, outdated version is an act of individuality? That seems ill-advised considering the recent history of the company in question (as already noted above and well-documented). They make quality products, but said products have been known to break when things get updated. Rushing in headfirst without first giving it any thought would be dumb. It might work out, but it would still be dumb.

On the other hand, saving oneself from the grief of dealing with broken software by taking the time to think about the situation and collect information before deciding the proper course of action seems not only intelligent, but something an independent thinker might do.

 

All I get from this is that Kontakt is buggy as fuck and can ruin your projects. Maybe they should focus on fixing those elementary issues instead of bloating the software with more advanced features that hardly anyone would use. And do it BEFORE releasing the product and telling us how powerful and perfect it is.

(Still the best sampler on the market though)

 

Sorry to highjack the thread. I have previous release to this. Thus requiring Keygen to activate each library. Otherwise they show up as demo. I'm assuming with a new library that isn't on current Keygen. You'll continue to get demo displayed? Obtained the new Outpu# library earlier but haven't installed yet as it won't be on current Keygen that I have or probably the latest one from a couple of days ago? Thanks for any info.

 

Don't worry man, the major bugs will be fixed in Kontakt 6. The v5.6.0 is an unlocked beta version after all lol

 

Around you read especially negative comments, and many that have made the update regret not be standing still at 5.5.0 ... it's just panic?

 

Well, as for one who had endless woes with 5.5.2. I will hold with 5.5.0.

 

The thing that pisses me off about Kontakt is that as soon as they release a small update, new libraries won't load on the slightly older version. Is it that hard to make both versions compatible?

 

I didn't bother updating 2 552, but bit the bullet & tried this one. Tried loads of libs, no real problems as of yet. Well, no new problems, at least. Oh, except the standalone does seem 2 have problems with some libs (interface elements missing bug). Haven't rly noticed any probs using w/ DAW. So far. Love the new UI, much clearer keyboard view etcs. Especially <3 the "small window" thing =[__] where u can wrap the ui around 1 instrument @ a time.

 

Is the keygen required for OSX to activate libs?

 

I don't like the idea of Keygen, even if R2R provides regularly updated. And I think it will last long for them. I believe that this process is no use.

So I sent a message to Tracer, for he presents hopefully in the near future,he make its own version.

Another thing: Cinesamples requires a version of Kontakt 5.3.1. Sonokinetic: Kontakt 4.2.4 & 5. Soundiron: Version 5.5.1 or later. Sample Logic: Version 5.5.1 or Higher. Heavyocity: 5.5.1. ProjectSAM 5.5.1

Developers are not stupid. And I think they will continue to offer their products under this version of kontakt for a long time.

This is my opinion. He will be criticized course. And that is the goal of this forum that "Simon Templar" (without bad puns or mockery) has created.

We Can all discuss matters that we take to heart.

 

In my case and I guess several more it's more bad experiences with v552 unsupported libraries.
The AZ last keygen release has interesting comments. I've the feeling that, while with v5 most of us prefer the unlocked method, in a probably major release (v6?) the keygen method will be the only option. It seems a fact that there are upcoming changes in Kontakt system.
Just my thoughts, only NI and R2R know...

I agree, but for me it'd be no surprise that NI offers "advantages" to developers if they release their libs for the last Kontakt release. Marketing sucks...

Hey guys, Could you help ne? I tried to install the ver. 5.6 on 2 PCs, one with Win 7 and 8. On the other both as this error message: "api-ms-win-crt-conio-l1-1-0.dll missing". The sfc / scannow from OS does not detect this error.
Has anyone else had this problem? And how it solved?
