As my music is based on Rock I always felt a little lost on SoundCloud. This was also a reason for me why I ended up doing the whole YouTube-thing. So I never spent this much time on SoundCloud as it feels extremely clumsy to me. Removing the groups now is just another nail in the coffin. I guess they will be bought in 2017 and then end up entirely irrevelant shortly after.

so uuugh yeah there are s till face book groups and groups all over the internet you can use , SC is like every other site they statr small they get mad CASH yo then they try to keep the cash flowing , everything is pay to play now a days , i too get so annoyed with the fake shit but hey a play is a play , UNTIL you go pro and try to trace those plays , its really getting pointless , i use SC just fo a place to save my tracks , i wish i had more space on hdds and servers , at the end of the day its the users who ruing the site , we the people have to be like a surfer on on the ocean , see the wave coming , ride it , but realize at some point you have to bail out or the waves crashes on the rocks and you are left broken , after paying for pro , what diid you get , you got someone paid , and centralized power , like you tube google twitter facebook , name a site that is not centralized power , good bye ....

I had an account with bandcamp, but I didn't know how to go about getting exposure. I didn't seem to get any listens and there was nothing similar to "Groups" or sharing that I could find, so I ended the account.....Maybe I will invest a little more time and see what it has to offer for exposure.

 

Soundcloud hasn't been relevant to me in any way for at least 2 years now.

I don't get it why none of you mention Youtube, post tracks on Youtube, voila, billions of people market

 

TBH I just ignore most of the claptrap that's built-in/exploited by scammers on sites like SC. I follow people who make stuff similar to mine/stuff I really like, and who are very much small potatoes in the likes/listens dept. I never repost anything, I almost never message anyone, and it's actually rare that I even comment on tracks any more.. it all starts to smell like spending more and more time and energy "hustling", schmoozing, gaming the system, being a goddamn politician/marketer instead of a musician- and I have ZERO interest in that. Let the fast-talking, high-energy go-getters and sharks who are desperate for attention whore themselves out.. I'm too old, cranky and tired to care.
