I'm trying to install the full version, multiple different tries with multiple different versions (R2R & Tracer)... all are giving this annoying error.
Any clues on what to do?

 

Is this a fresh install?
Do you have the original Kontakt 5 installer from Komplete 9 or 10

I can tell you for sure it a registry issue, but don't wanna jump the gun.

 

Yeah, it's a fresh install... which I haven't done in awhile (just setup a new pc)

Maybe I'm being an idiot? Do I use a legit installer and then run an r2r update over it?

 

That worked for Mac users so i see why not it can't work for Windows, but be careful your legit is not higher than your cracked version

 

I'm not trying to use legit.
I'm trying to put kontakt on a pc that hasn't had it before and the full installers are saying they can't find a previous installation (they dont need to find it cause i'm not updating, i'm installing)

 

Legit demo installer from NI's site also gives the same error

 

Knocking the laptop off my desk seemed to work ... now it installs

 

Really strange. Are your PERMISSIONS maybe corrupted??
I'm on MAC and had similar issues with every type of installer (on my old model).
Corrupted permission rights can prevent you from installing, full software, updates, or even move/trash files.
