Anybody else having issues with this plugin?

I'm using Windows 10 64 bit and use Ableton 9.6 64 bit but cannot get it to work. The standalone works fine, but the plugin gives me a license error. Any ideas?!?!

Yes. And I tried installing over and uninstalling it first before installing latest version.

 

nice gear list man. i'm back to win8.1 after giving w10 another chance 2 weeks ago. here the latest s-gear2 runs perfect on live 9.2.2, reaper5211 and studio one 3.2.3 all x64. anyway how is win10 working out for you with all the plugins , midi and whatnot ?

 

You need to correctly uninstall the previous version and clean up the registry.

great plugin i downloaded the demo some weeks ago,but already bought bias fx to my ears S-Gears sound much better than bias fx for none metal sounds.

 

I can only agree with 'Breakpoint' ... nothing better than erase any traces of a software which leads you to troubles, and the 'Windows Registry' is the 'Hot Spot' on this matter (in some cases), not only 'Uninstalling' it.

I don't know if the topology of the 'Windows Registry' on Windows 10 is different from previous Versions, but I can guess that not...
In this case, simply open (launch) 'regedit.exe', then from here, go to :

* 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER', open its 'scrolling menu', then go to 'Software', then 'Scuffham Amps', and delete that Entry.

* 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE', open its 'scrolling menu', then go to 'Sofware' then 'Scuffham Amps', and delete that Entry too.

* Always within 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE', go to 'Wow6432Node', then 'Scuffham Amps', and delete that Entry too.

* HKEY_USERS, open its 'scrolling menu', then go to 'S-1-5-21-671578755-391967680-1401295357-1001' (I'm not sure if you have exactly the same figures that mine, but choose the Entry which has the more figures), go to 'Software', then 'Scuffham Amps', and delete that Entry too.

When done, 'Refresh' ('F5') your 'Windows Registry', close it, then your 'Windows Registry' should now don't have any traces of 'Scuffham Amps'... and simply re-install your Software from its 'Setup.exe'...

I just worked it out. Uninstalled everything, deleted the Scuffham folders in C:\Program Files and in C:\ProgramData. Also deleted the FLEXnet file in C:\ProgramData.

I then went into registry and deleted Scuffham Amps and FLEXnet entries in CURRENT_USER and LOCAL_MACHINE. I restarted machine and reinstalled lated S-Gear2 and it now works in plugin mode. I think it's the FLEXnet licensing system that may have been causing theissue so i think just deleting that from registry might be enough.

I've had zero issues with Windows 10 and it's been rock solid for everything for me. The one odd glitch I did have was when I installed latest NYRV Agent (I think) and hen I run the plugin scanner it kept BSODing straight away. However, put certain thing is admin mode and it fixed it all up. I don't think it was NYRV Agent, but can't remember exactly what plugin it was. That was the only oddity though, and it's been solid on everything else for me.
