I'm new here. I don't know anyone or anything about this place.

    So my noob question is...

"What music do you make, how and where do you make music and what do you make music with?"

Me, I play some keyboards, in a live band. I occasionally lurk about in a studio making tea and marveling at the 'real' musicians. I do some live sound from time to time and I'd willingly donate my right lung to be able to sing.

What about you folks here? What do you do? :)

    tB.

http://soundcloud.com/allen-lee-geddes 2.play on stage, in a pub, around a campfire, and in my dreams when I am asleep, but I record mostly in my second floor apartment/flat or the studio up the road (The Recording Workshop, Chillicothe, Ohio, USA). 3.Drums/percussion, voice, bass guitar, keyboards, friends, wave files, and a piece of crap HP computer that is constantly making me feel like a geezer longing for a tape machine.(sorry, I'm having issues with HP-lol) Welcome to the site. Be nice to everybody and you will find that is pretty much all you have to do. This is one of my favorite places in cyberspace.

I do Rock/Metal/Hiphop/Pop as well as other genre's. As for real instruments I mainly play guitar but growing up in school bands and in a music family I play somewhere around 13-20 instruments fluently [odd numbers because woodwind instruments are all the same to play lol].

I mostly make music on the computer. I find writing in the old "guitarist writes a riff, drummer tries to write something to riff, bass player copies guitar] is outdated. So I write real instruments in a daw to be outside of the box and do things that writing on real instruments would never produce

Where do I write my music? On the couch in front of my 57inch HD tv with a bong in my hand. But I'd say that's as much of an instrument as anything these days.

On the computer end. I can play piano/keyboard but I don't use one for writing. I prefer making my music in dots and geometric patterns. It would be nice to use a midi controller sometimes but nothing like punching in a bunch of dots and magically making listenable music that blows peoples minds.

Well, I am here to help people improve their productions as well as get feedback on mine from more experienced musicians. I do electronic dance music (progressive house, electro, trance). I use ableton live and do everything in the box and love it that way. I think it's amazing what you do with software and you can get results just as good as anything you hear on the radio and u can do it at home. I do mixing and mastering as well.

I'm new here as well but I mostly wonder around the internet in different music forums and blogs. Saw this forum and thought I'd join in.

I make different electronic styles like trance, house, and dance. Learning to produce and make good quality work, reading lots of books on various topics. Good stuff. :3

I do "EDM" is that's what you wanna call it..love vocal house especially, something with epic vocals and a deep soulful melody, hair raising stuff basically. I also do mixing and mastering for myself and others. I love doing collaborations with other musicians as well, I find the combined creatives processes to be very powerful and inspiring.

Hi, it is extremely interesting what you all do with music. I'm also new here, especially love film music (like "Lord of the Rings") from dreamy, easy to flowing and increased to the Full Orchestra Sund.
Studio One is my DAW favorite with "Cinematic Strings", "Capriccio" or "NI Symphony Series Instruments" etc.
A good friend is my slightly older Yamaha PSR-8000 keyboard.

There's a topic somewhere in this forum where people post their tracks, be it works in progress or finished tracks.
That means you won't find me there

I have zero theory knowledge and I don't know how to play keyboard. Everything is done in step mode in Studio One with many different vsti and sample libraries.

I don't really know which genre I fit in but some people here said that my tunes are some kind of easy listening with an ounce of jazz.

I do remastering and final mastering. Used to do sound restoration too in the old days. It's mostly about (right) applying of basic physical laws (acoustics especially), rules of DSP and electronics in the end since 'creative musicians' and 'home-producers' do not take much care of it. Nothing much, just make already recorded and produced sound clearer, more coherent, more balanced and more lively.
    Most 'free-lancers' just skip it...
