SoundToys EchoBoy is the only delay anyone needs. It does everything. (Replika is pretty good too for a few special effects)

Waves H-Delay is a no-brainer choice. The best delay plugin ever.

For vocals defo the Eventide Harmonizers. Or the Softube counterpart Microshift, or PrimalTap.

    Steinberg Karlette.

But really, I use Replika a lot. Probably too much.

Filter delay and ping pong delay work really good too.
but for sure you need to be a Ableton user.

the FL Delay2 works as vst also good, used it a few years in ableton.
IL Love philter as VST is also a good choice as it can do delays too.

Surprisingly, Replika turned out to be extremely usable, a nice workhorse delay. I didn't upgrade to XT, but the original one has all you need, filters are there, there are dots and triplets, the ping pong is great and most importantly, the modulation which IMO made the plugin - phaser and filter, your choice. Another great choice is H-Delay which has been my go-to delay for many years now, there is tap function, delay up to 2 bars, a lo-fi mode, included filters and pitch modulation. I'd suggest making sure you turn analog to 1 or off since it introduces noise which is then heavily amplified by your master limiter on quiet parts of your tracks.

For basic delay needs, I alternate between Audio Damage DubStation and NI Replika. For more complex multi-tap stuff, I use Audio Damage Ricochet, NI Replika XT and PSP 608.

H-Delay Stereo, Replika XT .. there's literally no point on having anything else other than these two. If you can't achieve what you want with these, call it a day and try again tomorrow. :D
