EQuilibrium gives me annoying CPU spikes, poping up DAW warnings. Do I miss something in the settings?

Or is it a CPU Monster per se?

Hmmm... Guess I end up using DMG and/or FabFilter the most- Kush does sound gorgeous and is winning me over, not the first for utility duties though. rs-met EngineersFilter is my go-to for highpass/lowpass duties, no twee curves, minimal CPU hit, just gets the job done.

kinda hard to tell, mainly because for me there's 2 type of Eq wich are really different beasts for different purpose : transparent eq to sculpt sounds, and analogish mojo's emulation to add flavor and embellish the overall spectrum.

I personally would go with Pro-Q2 for surgical and transparent eq (there's nothing you can't do with it), and with acoustica's magenta for mojo and character, mainly on the 2bus.

Almost minimum phase eqs can be used as linear phase. Like said, linear phase eqs are almost all only FFT or FIR, and it is hard to implement linear phase eq in IIR mode in real-time, because of infinite preringing/preheat, which you will be waiting for infinite time etc. But there is bidirectional IIR method which gives best quality than FIR, and much better than FFT, it can be done manually. And I know how to do this. It can be done with any eq. Imagine equilibrium IIR mode in linear phase or analog emulation working in linear phase mode. IIR linear phase gives more precision even in lows.

BTW about skrillex... Is he number one best engineer? Yes he does cool sound, but it is harsh, overclipped and dirty. Not my reference.

No mention of Positive Grid EQs? I think they're great.
Those along with Pro-Q2, bx_digital and AirEQ can get me through just about any project.
I used to use the Waves Q10 a lot before the Pro-Q2 came along.
Some others I like are the maag, API 560, SSL G-EQ...
+1 for Clariphonic! It's technically a parallel EQ.

He surely has talent! it's undeniable. I like some of his music too
But this belongs to his pre 2012 stuff. before he went mainstream and kinda destroyed the real dubstep with sound of a dial-up modem being abused by a fax machine. harsh noises all over EDM festivals.
Anyway, lets get back to the topic.

When i hear that track i know how much effort the guy put into making that song,i know it sounds over clipped, over compressed etc,but the mix sounds as good in mono as in stereo, totally made for clubs.

    Von steyr,

I have a lot of my own edm, Complextro, electrohouse, brostep, break beat tracks, that are groovy, pumpy, louder than skrillex, with transients and not so shitty-overclipped, and it is very high quality, because I spend months to mix and master one track, and possibly it would impress you how I do it. But my tracks still not released yet, I am preparing some surprise year or two years later...) some oldest tracks must be reviewed though.. Or not released atol... Sorry, at all))

    And the winner is:

    FabFilter Pro-Q 2

To be honest, I still don't know why.:(
