Kate Bush was the first person to release a commercial album using a Fairlight CMI, making her a sampling pioneer. She also built her own home studio based around the Fairlight, making her a pioneer bedroom producer of sorts! The influential Hounds of Love album is the culmination of a number of years spent mastering the Fairlight, and produced a pop blueprint that still resonates today. Enjoy the documentary and album below to learn more about this classic album.

when I saw this thread title.. I knew it had to be... zen

wonder what she is up to these days, I haven't heard anything out of her in years.. admit I haven't really looked tho..

seems like I remember her mentioning some Korg triton version she liked to use as well

I'm a firm believer in learning from the past, not the recent past but the generation before

She released an album and did a tour in 2014, her first live performance in 35 years!

Here is an earlier album that utilizes the Fairlight quite a bit, but it was largely misunderstood upon it's release in 1982. She was a bit ahead of the curve, as it it now held in higher esteem retrospectively. It's also the one that got Björk going.
