    Negative Von Steyr!!
In my opinion S3 is just the most efficient daw there is at this moment. Fresh code developed by some of the biggest talents in audio industry. AND THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. There is a lot more to come in the future. But ok....stick to your ancient Cubase or Pro Tools. Daws with a lot of overhead you will never use. Just gadgets and looks. S3 is just focused on time saving tools, efficiency and especially a USER FRIENDLY environment. I have never had any experiences like freezing or other strange things. Believe me, look for the problems in your hardware and/or system settings. S3 is in development, so Presonus is constantly trying to get the most out of your system. Thats called progressive development gentlemen!!
    Cheers from Holland.

    My gear; WIN10/SSD/Intel 4790K/ASROCK MB/ RME FF400.

Some people even when you show them that the grass is green keep claiming it's blue. @rotong After so many people confirmed S1 is very inefficient, even screenshots of CPU usage.

But almost nobody disagrees about the S1's workflow being great. Me too, but I can handle reaper just fine. I use lots of track and FX templates as they speed up the workflow considerably.

Last Time I tried S1 I was able to max out the CPU with one instance of Impact.
Same with Presence. Their Envelopes seams to be the root of evil.

Maybe many are still afraid to speak out.
S1 is a typical example of too much, too soon. They want to compete with the rest of the DAWs so badly that they leave holes and these holes need fixing.
I wonder if @tapekiller saw big lebowski`s post,he`s been quiet since then. :)

....and specifically they are targeting PT market. They are not considering any requests by 'midi' users but keep adding smart 'audio' functions to compete with PT. Handling audio files doesn't require much cpu, consequently they are also not interested in our rants of it being cpu hog etc. A DAW which was highlighted/marketed as 'a platform for everyone' and had much potential is now loosing support and interest by a vast majority after discovering it's shortcomings. They should consider overhauling of S1 code and make it light on resources to the least leaving midi not-midi functions jargon aside and we users will bow down our heads :beg:. Until then this is 'not a platform for everyone'.

I'm not sure, if something called dynamic plug-in processing is able to save the key - as you can see on the pictures i posted earlier - the CPU performance is unusually high even during playback - comparing to reaper/logic for example - it means there are no unused plugins.
