I am a new member to the waves family of plug ins and was wondering which are the ones you use in daily production and cannot live without? There has been major movement with the company and their releases and I am just trying to get a better understanding of which ones to test and use for my productions. Rock on:metal:

I really like Puigtec EQs, then aren't really CPU hungry and they sound pretty nice ! For delays, I use Waves H-delay, really good sounding too. When I need a gate, the C1 comp in gate mode is my favorite, it just does what I ask him to do ! ;)

If I had to be in a deserted island with just one Waves plugin, I'd be CLA Vocals. If there were room for two, I'd take the SSL E channel strip.

Used to have lot of them but since started using Acustica, I have cut down the list. Now I have only five installed on my system,

    NLS - analog summing
    H-delay
    SSL compressor
    L2
    Kramer tape

My favourite is the API 2500, amazing comp
the API 550a/b eq is also impressive

    Aside from that, hmmm...
    • H Reverb/Delay/Comp
    • Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter
    • NLS (I kinda like it better than VCC, maybe I'm just used to it)
    • NX (great for headphone mixing, highly recommended over Redline Monitor)
    • dbx160
    • Saphira
    • CLA compressors
    • Schepps 73
    (in no particular order)

I always use the L3 Ultra Maximiser - simple and works great imo.

The noise reduction stuff is also good.

I used to be a fan of Puigtec till I got the Softube Tube-Tech
SSL Eqs are nice but I prefer Slate
J37 is great but Slate's sounds better for modern tracks.

    Hard to say really but my go to's;
    -SLL strip & buss comp
    -dbx 160
    -Vitamin / Saphira
But I use so many for so many different things, Scheps73 is awesome but if I were to single one out it would be: RS56 the curvebender.

    Just thinking

S1 - Stereo Imager [Every track - Vital mixing tool]
Center - Stereo Controller [Occasional balancing tool]
Kramer - Master Tape [Occasional - Use Fabfilter Saturn more]
    API - EQ 560 [Occasional]
Marroquin - Distortion & EQ [Occasional]
    Maserati - DRM [Offten]
    One Knob - Pressure [Occasional]
    V Series - EQ 3 - EQ 4 [Every track]
    NSL Non Linear Summer [Occasional]
    L 2 [Occasional]

Considering the huge amount of available plugins from Waves - I do not actually use that many of them

Here are my go-to Waves plugins:

    - H-Delay. If I need delay, this is the only one I'll use. Just grab it, learn it, use it forever. Make sure you turn Analog to OFF so it doesn't give you any noise. There's everything here. Lo-Fi stuff, BPM sync (with triplets and so on), ping-pong (stereo) delay, LPF/HPF, as well as some modulation to sound like tape delay. Great stuff.
    - L1. For its simplicity. Set and forget limiter. You usually don't even need to touch the release. Has a link button so you don't bring the volume up. Great for taming super dynamic vocals and guitars, I also use it on master during mixing to listen at comfortable levels (brings it up from like -12dB to something more manageable)
    - Renaissance DeEsser. The default preset pretty much always works, and you can adjust sensitivity and the range of actual attenuation, so you catch whatever you wanna catch. Great on compressed vocals to reduce the sibilants, I also use it on acoustic guitar once I compressed it so the string cuts aren't overly harsh.
    - Renaissance Reverb. I really, honestly, don't know why. Just got the whole Renaissance bundle. And this plugin just works. It's reverb. That's about it, I guess. I like the consistency in interface between Renaissance plugins, so maybe that's a thing.
    - Renaissance Vox. Oh yeah. First line of fire in the vocal chain. A gate and compressor. Set the comp to like -3 to -6dB reduction, then set the gate so it cuts out inbetween phrases.
    - SSL E-Channel. My go-to channel strip. Everything's here - filters, great sounding EQ, slight compression, gate should I need it. Make sure you check the manual for routing. It isn't top to bottom left to right. For that, engage Split and CH OUT under DYN TO. Then the signal flow is Filters > EQ > Compressor > Gate > Output. Also turn Analog off, just adds noise. The compressor is a great little touch on everything (-3dB LED should light up from time to time, no more). But really, the biggest plus of this plugin is the fact you can't see your EQ. Use your ears, guys!
    - Did someone mention CLA Vocals? That stuff is badass! Great sounding EQ, doesn't bother you with corrective stuff. This is for changing the big picture, not surgical cutting. There's a nice compressor for that upfront vocal sound, the reverb sounds great, slap delay couldn't be simpler to use. And finally, superb sounding doubler. Way more useful than any chorus.

cla 67 and h-delay are badass! best algo plugins ever made
cla-2a is shit on the other hand,

I liked cla vocals in the past also, but when I listen to old projects I think it is damaging most of the time sonically,
but I've seen it beeing used in bigger studios by people who I respect so maybe I just suck at it/doing something wrong
