Hello everyone!

I just installed RealGuitar 4 into my VST directory on my PC. It runs perfectly in standalone mode but it doesn't get scanned by Ableton (Live 9.6.1). I also tried to bridge it with jBridger but no luck

Please guide me for a fix. Thanks in advance

 

I had some trouble with Realguitar 3. I don't remember exactly but I think it was related to RealGuitar having not only 32 and 64 versions but also VST2 and Vst3. You've to be very careful with the plugin folders.

 

For some reason LennarDigital Sylenth1 v2.2.1.1 x64 is not found by Live 9 if the plugin file is placed within a sub folder of the main vst plugin folder. You have to put the plugin file into the the main plugin folder instead. Maybe this sort of behavior also is true for RealGuitar 4?

 

It chrashes on my mac too, really weird

 

Did you try a deep scan of your VST-Plugins folder?

Go to preferences > Library > switch the yellow button next to `Use VST Plugin Custom Folder` off > Hit rescan

It will probably take a while but you can monitor all plugins that are recognized in the status bar.

I guess I have to stick with RealGuitar 3.

Which Guitar libraries would you suggest??

Try this:
Run Ableton Live as Administrator.
Cut and Paste the Real Guitar .dll from your VST plugins folder onto your desktop.
Rescan VST folder.
Move the Real Guitar .dll back into the VST folder.
Rescan the VST folder.
If it doesn't work the first time close Live, run as Admin again and repeat the process.

Dunno what OS ur on but here, Win 10, Live 9, RealGuitar shows up, plays just fine.

 

There must be a solution. Don't give up yet. Uninstall and reinstall RealGuitar and pay a lot of attention to which plugin you install and where.

You must choose x32(x86) or x64, the one that matches your Live version (not the Windows one). Probably x64 but check it just in case. You should choose between VST3 or VST2 too, if you install both there are better chances to have problems.

As for alternatives, if you play live with your MIDI controller the best is precisely Real Guitar. If you want the best "scriptable one" AmpleSound AGT (ABL, etc). If you want best pure sound quality Orange Tree samples Evolution Steel (perhaps the new Nylon one). I say this with confidence because I asked personally to the HIFImidi youtuber, one hell of a crack. I recommend you to saw his tuts.
