I offer this as a mutual exchange at possible learning.

I like the sound, but to me it sounded a little thinner than the example music below when the kick started. Which given my incredible up to 6 weeks of experience doing this, may be completely meaningless but, if I am possibly right I was thinking, there may be an instrument missing. For example, when your kick comes in and the lead synth starts to play it didn't sound the same to me as something like this:

say around 7:45 for a transition from the soundscape to the beat. Idk the names of how trance partitions their songs and I still have to get a definition of "drop" cause it sounds like a chorus section to me...

I was listening and listening to both, and then both together, beat sync'ing them and I think it's because the other track has a bass instrument, both augmenting the kick on the beat, but sometimes syncopating and providing a little counterpoint to the melody (Idt it was a sequenced fancy delay of the kick). If it was a conscious decision not to add a bass instrument to the mix, then it's just personal taste and the music does sound happy and consonant to me. I just wondered if you added a bass in that way it would sound "stronger" and "fuller" (I have to now investigate if a bass can "glue" a song together...now I think it can) yet not change it's emotional impact. Happy and nice can be as strong as evil and mean, imo.

[Edit] Nuts, I hear a bass playing quarter notes but only quarter notes. It may be the use of the youtube's song over compression that adds a pumping effect along with the sycopated beat of it's bass.

I have an idiot savant ability to count which also allows me to track up to 8 conversations at a time (and I can't shut it off...not fun in crowded places before meditation) IF you do have a bass and my ears missed it, pls say so, cause I'm still learning EDM/Trance stuff, never needing vick's vapor rub and a pacifier cause I must live in a cave missing 20 years of a popular movement.

It may all be how they were mastered. I'm a noob. I appreciate your song the more I listen to it.

I'm an old trancehead. I think you're on the right track, so to speak, but the cowbell (or whatever that pitched percussion element is) isn't appropriate for trance. Just remove it entirely. Of course there are other things you'd need to do to the track to make it viable. But since you're not serious about producing trance, I'll keep my reply to just that. Best of luck to you.

Yep thought it was good, it held my interest although being short (maybe a basis to build further). A little more work on the mix especially snare/clap.

I offered my feedback as a basis of exposing the components of trance. Not as a means for you to stop! I have watched one really long tut about one type of trance, but it was more mechancis than explanation. I hoped this could be more as a basis to open a discussion.

Consider iteratively better approximation. Everyone can't be a masta from the start. I've been watching a non youtube Omnisphere 2 tutorial for 2 hrs and just got 40 different ways to search it's database. fml.

I can't even change my avatar to this here for some reason and the dimensions are right:
    Yo Puss.jpg
    but, that hasn't stopped me.

I just learned from you today the sound version of imgur.com that I use for images. Soundcloud! yay.
