in the use of macs, we are agreed... *yes*

if he does not need the lots of midi facilities, why would he need or prefer logic? :dunno:

    all the best...

Reaper and Ableton are sampler daws... I don't care about you being narrow-minded (after all, it's you who has to live with the disadvantages, not me) but I do care about misinformation.

FYI, Reaper means "Rapid Environment for Audio Production, Engineering, and Recording". Something different than a sampler.

he's obviously only used logic. i mean, he started his reply with the whole mac vs pc can-o-worms, then trashed 2 perfectly able daws

managed to help no one but his ego

Many DAW's are stable and working fine. Im on a Mac and work with Logic Pro and Ableton Live.
Most crashes are from Third Party Plugins. So keep an Eye on that :)

steven slate's vcc is also one (plug-in) of the very best sounding things on this ball of mud, i also like its overall finesse... *yes*

    all the best...

    we mostly use studio one.
all our software is cracked, so that's probably our biggest problem causing the crashes.

    hello, Amani,

this yours is one very good system, so all depends (must be *yes* ) on the configuration, audio in-out, software (too much, may be also wrz, not sure), defragmentation, issues... *yes*

another point, try to keep your hard dive(s) at least half empty, use one drive dedicated to the recording and playing back of the audio files, and please *do* regularly defragment your drive(s)... *yes*

keep up the good work (hopefully without crashes)...

if i would answer it would be FL Stuidio 10 ...then S1 v2 ...then, fuck the rest ...and if u want u can use ReWire and you have pure POWER in your hands ...but then your taste for these could be different ...so stick to the one you like and better dont ask no more ... :dunno:

Reaper is stable since it is not cracked, (it doesn't have to be, as it's only nag-screened). I'd seriously recommend buying it too as it's cheap for home use

The last 8 Years I used Cubase. As I saw how easy I can work with loops, plugins and effects in Live, I began to use It.

Cubase crashed maybe 1 time per week. But Live crashes 1 time per day so long I load a bit heavy Vst plugs.

But the nice thing is that the automatic crash recovery restores my project in live.

Live has a Better effects and Sound Library than Cubase. Live has no Scoring and no built in Sound editor.

I love using my Mac and Logic...
But I can can crash it more times than Evel Knievel when I get going

Give me any DAW and I will take it down.

As mentioned, it's all about project management, sample management (drives etc), freezing unused synths, and not becoming a plug-in junkie.

Reaper Works for me, If you are thinking of trying it, Check out the Groove 3 Tutorials. It takes a different approach as far as workflow. Once you know it however you can fly. Extremely stable!

LOL, u do not need a mac to be serious about stability... My windows 7 DAW uptime is about 4 months, since i last had to restart the machine , and that was because i needed to unplug and move it.

At any rate, had Cubase running for over a week last year during a project where two of us were working nights, so essentially we had a 24 hour shift going for the whole time, didn't skip a beat!

    Cubase daw,Focusrite interfaces,Windows 7= win!

Your right its almost never the DAW that is unstable its third party plugins that causes craches.
And the most stable DAW is Reason and that is beacuse it dont use plugins.
Its as simple as that so if you can live without plugins and wants a DAW that is super stable go for Reason 6
