I'm wondering why there's a "Boost Switch" in Cook's Resources-folder. Has anyone ever seen a Boost Switch on that GUI :dunno:
Probably already some stuff they'll add in the future...

Never seen a "Boost Switch" it myself unless it of MAC version or something :dunno:
Not messed with the plug much nut it pretty cool for what was a freebie
Maybe not pressed right button yet :rofl:might appear magically

Agreed could be of something but would seem strange to include graphics png etc from future releases Would just increase size etc, give away ideas for future updates etc. Don't see the point as there no need really unless it's common practise.
Don't know a lot about skinning plugins myself

    Possibly an accidental :dunno:

Me neither, and there's also a POWER on/off png which isn't visible on the GUI!
I also made a re-colored skin for DrumTools, it doesn't look overwhelming...
...in matte orange/ocre colors, many wouldn't like it i imagine.

Great job man! that looks way better,
but do u all of you guys use this plugin?

the naming is kinda weird? is it a 1176 or an la2a?
does it has two compression stages? what tube is driven?

  6. If it were an 1176 there would be not a tube stage but rather an FET stage to emulate a tube stage. It would compress quicker as opposed to the tube, transients more liable to slip by fairly unscathed, more of a squashing than a variable mu design. The 1176 on the gui confuses my variable mu speed brain.

Here it works 100% on the AU v1.03 32+64 Bit mode!
    Maybe you've made a mistake somewhere. :)

Even legit Bus Driver crashes Reaper & some other DAW's when u delete.
Think the plugin has a few bugs that need sorting. Drum Tools also. Crashes when u delete them.
Maybe it the unlock file rather than auth but i don't know about these things.
Not sure about how it behaves on MAC etc

Many tube/valve compressors have tubes placed at various stages but in the main at the gain/makeup stage hence - "Driven"

Main idea breakup causing analogue, Fat sounding warmness rather than transistor like, digital harshness clipping etc.
Whether it happens and makes a huge difference - Debatable.
Of course exceptions as always and different types of tube compressors with advantages & disadvantages of course i.e tubes blow up lol or they pick up static, need biasing etc.
Same old debate analogue vs ..... Optical tube comps especially with vocals seem to make a difference tho but in the main the opto stage is just solid state especially in cheaper models
Try one out I guess if u able coz they cost loads all though u can get some at a reasonable price if u look.

Like I said before, I followed the instructions and did this twice. I ain't new to this, so all I can say is: it doesn't work for me in 10.9.5.

Rename Background Finished.png in Cook's Resource folder to Background.png. Fixed the crashing for me.

Great skin, but I didn't like the green light hitting the knobs so much. It feels unnatural. So I changed it using gradient curves. Looks like this now:

As you prefer. I've made the green light with intention as a counterpoint to the overall dominant red/brown look!
