You are sure that an Dongle is a USB Storage ? I doubt that.

 

Right. If it were just a thing of cloning the contents of the dongle, the black market would be flooded with iLok and elicenser clones.

 

Dongles are not flashdrives with files on them that contain licences. They are totally another thing. You can't just "copy them" with cloning software.

 

Guys! Maybe that much easier just to make Audiosex DAW?

You guys could offer older versions prior to version 8 for a lot less money.
Think about it,lots of Cubase dvd boxes lying around in stores and warehouses,im sure people would buy cubase 7 pro for 100-150$.You would get legit users and sell older software.Its a win/win for Steinberg.
Or be the first company that recognizes thousands are using old cracked cubase 5 AIR and offer these users cheap upgrade to a legit current PRO version.
Why deny the obvious?
This move would get you a lot of legit users,money and respect from the community.
Lots of people want to use your software but cant afford it,that is the reality.
Lots of potential in these users,future producers,musicians,djs,why look away from this problem,why not work with it?
Avast did the same by offering users with cracked software cheap upgrade to pro version and they got a lot more legit users that way.

 

C'mon, you gotta give it to the Steinberg crew that they have everyone scratching their heads with their protection system. Without a question their DAW is good enough to keep a thread like this on fire. I don't get Cubase (and I never might), but I could be alone in Non-Cubase island.

Never got into Cubase. I tried it out years and years ago, when the big draw was the fact that it had an insane amount of bundled plugs (this was pre-VI, so it was all audio plugs), and some of the audio functions weren't bad, but the MIDI features were terrible and it always seemed to redline my CPU on even the most basic projects, so I moved on. Every so often, I'll catch a blurb about more recent versions of Cubase, where it seems like they fixed a few things and made a few more things worse. It seems like the big draw is still the bundled plugs and VIs. I'd rather just collect those things on the side and have a more reliable DAW (or DAWs) to work with.

 

My elicenser is already cracked , couple years ago the dongle casing just fell apart. the only place its ever been is in one computer since i bought Cubase 6. since then its been held together with PVC tape . but you can still see the groovy "2001, a space odyssey ALEX pulsating red LED" .

Cubase and also Pro tools are the most ridiculous DAWs on the planet so don't waste your time trying to do them. Find a better one.

So happy they have been locked hardly for preventing people to dig deeply into their stupid shit flows.

Cubase is nice to learn music theory.
One of the greatest new features on 8 was a button to play triads. How can you beat that?

Guys, Cubase 8.5 for Windows has already been k'ed for months by team V.R. But the release is in internal beta testing stage. Let's see if they release it for everyone soon.

 

Any source to that ? Sounds kinda not true.
