Got some time recently to start writing songs again and came up with this with a little help from friends. I'm a little of 'personified irony' because I'm a fairly smart guy who likes to keep things really simply.

So the plugs used here are cheap or free: SDRR, TDRNova (free version) wo all the dyn eq stuff for cutting, Acustica Ochre (free) for boosting, and Satin. That's pretty much it. Not a single, shiny $200 plugin in the batch, so I'm forced to use skills. Verbs are convolution. Acqua Charley (free) occasionally on buses).

KE: funky wah and chorus section guitars.
SG: lead and verbed guitars
Me: all other panned guitars, organ, rap, and vocals. And AD proggin (clean funk kit).

My song writing and mixing are a bit out of practice, but I've got the bug back now. So please let me know how I did.



EDIT: Forgot to give MJUC props. That's on all my vocal chains.
Also, the only "mastering" is a final limiter on the mixbus. If anybody felt this could be enhanced, I'm open for it. I'll just remove the limiter.

Thanks guys!!! Big smile. This was actually kindava new style for me because I'm mostly rock or alt rock. Never even tried "rappin" in a song before. But my hip-hop nephew kept bugging me to "get back to roots man!" So to please him, I tried something more soulful. The things you do for those you love. Good kid, he's worth it, though.

But yeah, I was out of music so long, and a friend asked me to do some vocals on a song of his that was music only at the time. Get this, kinda Beatles-like! So I had to tune into my Lennon voice. Anyway, that got me to dust off Reaper and pick up a mic and my guitar, and it looks like it stuck for while. Thus, this tune.

Time providing, maybe I can hook up with some good collabs here. Thanks again fellas!
