Great soundcheck! I would have gladly paid good money just to hear Stephen Morris warming up, what an incredible drummer he is

Sounds like a Simmons SDSV or similar drum module from the 80's.A Roland DDR 30 could also produce the same sound. Some recent digital drum sets from Yamaha,Roland Alesis etc could replicate the same.My opinion ,as I have worked on these sets before.

Sounds like a "normal" acoustic drum kit.
But you weren't really asking, were you? :winker:
    Good music to relax!

He's definitely got some electronics going on there. I think he plays a mixed kit or uses triggers, and sometimes he even plays along with a drum machine, which was quite innovative back in the day.

I don't know what the one in the video is for sure, but I know Stephen Morris played a Roland TD-8 kit later on in their career.

In fact, having a Google bring up this, which mentions a Simmons SDS-V.

I reckon he is triggering it from his acoustic kit as the sound seems very familiar. There is definitely a Simmons sound in there too, you can't miss that one.

You can find a DMX kit in AD2 (plus a Simmons kit)

He isn't known as the Macclesfield Metronome for nowt!

I was at that Hacienda gig. My cousin used to work for them and I know the bloke checking Steve's monitors in the soundcheck - Ed.
