Cool space in the mix, but very short!

    Thanks lexeed!
This is exactly my main problem for all of my tracks. I never use loops or midi from other songs (my red line) but always reach to a point that continuation is being impossible. What should I do?

Well, this is away from my normal listening genre, but I can still appreciate other styles if interesting or done well. So I'm prob not the best person for suggestions.

You should have put this in the other thread really. Keeps it all in the same place, as it's the same subject. Also the people helping you will see it easier. I only noticed the link because I was rereading the whole thread.

That said, the repetitiveness comes from the fact that although you have different progressions going on they are just being repeated over and over. So, what do you do? Well, you have one progression that goes up and comes down, so lets use that as a call and response. The call is up and the response is down. You can change the sound of the response. so it's different to the call. You can move the call and response up or down a couple of semitones. Maybe repeat the 1st part of the call a couple of times and the the whole call, likewise with the response. Put the response before the call. Invert the progression, so the call goes down and the response goes up. Play around with it and see how many variations you can make from it. You will be surprised how just this will bring new ideas and keep it interesting.

When your doing this mute the other tracks to start with and maybe put a new kick track in to keep time. Think to yourself I want something new every 8 bars. It doesn't need to be big, subtle works too as does silence.

@foster911 I told you already about these threads... if same topic keep them in the same thread, your making unnecessary work for the mod team.

@The Teknomage, great tips and analogy. Thanks

    Thread will be merged!!!

I could give you a dozen of advices, but i will give you one.Start listening to music, the masters of the 70s,80s and beyond.
Right now your music has no heart and soul, you need to connect them with your head and fingers, just let yourself go,you are way too mathematical even for this genre.
