Why aren't Waves plugins getting outdated and still used?!

I like Waves and I'm a fan of it but there are lots of Waves plugins (like MaxxBass, L3 MultiMaximizer, Doppler, Enigma, MondoMod etc...) that I know for years, 16 maybe more. Are these still useable or not? I mean VST technology is changing day by day, isn't there any new tech plugins instead of these? Shouldn't Waves renew their own legacy plugins?

I thought they were updated, but they maintain a consistent user interface which makes it seem as though they are not being updated?

Like most companies these days, the balance of marketing and development has been lost.
Waves does allow you to install only what you want. You can also remove plugins that are installed
if you know how (knowing what to delete in the registry also).

There are those who still use the older plugins and, updates have been done to some of those recently.

Personally I only use a small portion of the Waves plugins. Mostly the C and L series.

So what's better to use? Convince me to remove waves. Tell me better alternates. I want to delete waves myself, but you know, I'm confused. :dunno:

:winker: Of course they are still usable!
The term "outdated" is a very vague & questionable word, perfectly mirroring the modern decadent societies
where everything gets used and consumed fast, thrown away to buy the next new *miracle* things.
You know what? It's not only the tools making you to a master but the learning process!
WAVES since years have built up a solid "empire" of PROFESSIONAL tools, made by professionals.
Well, there are other developers like Plugin Alliance which make good tools but Waves are clearly
    more versatile, universal.

Waves regularly updates all the plugs - as Zen says, the interfaces tend not to evolve that much so you think nothing has changed, but they're all 64-bit, compatible with modern Win and OSX, albeit with more latency than I like. Some are more useful than others for sure, and like most major devs, they release a lot of redundant ones. To this day Q-10 is one of my favorite all-purpose EQs, because of the Q range and the fact that you can dial any of the ten stereo bands anywhere, even all on top of each other. Interestingly, it predates both Waves and Pro Tools, having been originally developed as the first third-party plug-in for Sound Tools (Digidesign's two-track predecessor of Pro Tools) in the late 80's by a guy named Mike Rockwell, who went on to be an important programmer within Digidesign. It's that old and still kicks ass.

Yeah. Maybe they are, but the GUI is old and boring.

Why would you write in Turkish in an English speaking forum where 99 % of the people will not understand this language?

Wasn't it simpler to send a PM in whatever language you choose to the other member?

Why is analogue gear not being outdated and still used? The Gui? Really? The gui doesn’t make the music for you. It just looks good. If it’s not broken don’t try and fix it. Just make the best music you possibly can. I’d have better coding and a crap GUI any day.

people tend to like the sound of old gear. employees of waves grew up with that old gear and emulate it in their software. it's not the 20 year old genius coding kid that makes a good sound, its the 50 year old producer. also, i recently bought the waves diamond bundle at sale for 888 euros which contains 50 plugins - show me any other developer being able to deliver this quality and quantity for that money.
