Since we're on the topic of that song, it got me thinking about unusual time signatures in music and some of the issues i personally have in identifying them.

Where the arpeggio is in this song, it definitely does sound like a 3/4 to me only because it sounds like i can count to 6 and the notes feel like they're the standard 4/4 type values. Then after the arpeggio finishes and goes into the next section, it sounds like 4/4.

Does it change time signatures? Or is it still working in the confines of 3/4 but is just phrased out differently?

Thanks for the notation Peghead, but the notes wasnt the issue, as nick says, theres something strange and magic in the arpegio, Seems like it is on a 3/4 signature, but song is in 4/4, arpegio isnt in time, it starts like a 16th late. My Brain is going to explode, can someone clarify this please?

Write it in triplets quavers and you've got 6 notes in a 2/4 beat ot triplets semiquavers and you've got 6 notes (the whole arpeggio) in a beat, making the transition to 4/4 quite natural

Now, what do you think about the sound in the arpegio itself? Its so hypnotizing, any tips on how that sound could be made?

This should be really close... The 16th note rest at the beginning causes part of the brain melt, along with the fact that the 16 x 16th notes that are required for one 4/4 bar can't be divided with no remainder by the 6 x 16ths arpeggio's notes, ultimately completing its cycle in bar 4 (end of bar 3), thus making it an even greater brain melt! :bleh:
