Hey guys

there's a great electronica musician whose name is BT and he has a song called Madskillz.

At 0:32 he has this aggressive cool synth that he's modulating the cutoff on. I'm wondering if you guys could help me recreate this sound. It could be a distorted square wave but I'd like to hear your guys' input on it.

 

Frequency modulation on a a synced oscillator may get you in the right direction.

No matter he's producing Trance or Electronica, BT has always tricky and interesting sounds... He was the creator of the original "Stutter Edit", so, you never know whats next ;)

 

And iZotope BreakTweaker as well.

 

acid, 4 osc saw, detune, filter trhough a band pass, move the filter to your taste, add stutter, trancegate vst (lfo tool, volumeshaper), add delay and reverb, or you can simply look for acid presets, sylenth has the best ones,

 

Two saws, slightly unisoned and spread out -> 4-pole bandpass (resonance to taste) -> distortion/saturation/overdrive -> some delay and/or reverb.

BT is a sound wizard! I'm only half-wizard.
