If your planning to Buy or upgrade anything from Steinberg that need to be activated which is just about everything be advised their activation server died or was hacked or something steins aint saying a thing other then technical issues , but the fact is its been down for a few days now, I got a message from someone at Steinberg today saying it would be up this afternoon , its not surprise surprise and the web site say it will be worked on "during the day" didn't say what day though. and only during the day is not tirelessly as they stated yesterday. so much for "Zero down time". i mean ill Iive but i would like to get the UR 242 I just bought fully operational. i can't imagine someone that just dropped a load a cash for cubase or the valentines special they ran 50% off that no one could take advantage of activating.

os all those that love to have a laugh at the expense of Steinberg, have at it :P

I will say thing the UR242 is actually very good. Lowest i could go on my Motu ultralite was 256 samples before it turned to mush with one a few track. i got 40 tracks going on the first project im using it with at 96 samples and it hasn't sputters once. im happy with it. although i do think im gonna buy a better preamp- the D-pre's in this need some getting use to i think.

 

not only steinberg software but everything what use e-licenser these shitty protections must be boycott

Good I hate that e e-licenser crap.
I used to have a I88x which was good drivers were a PIA. The thing is with the Yamaha I88x it was only good for one version of windows.
I sold it and went focus rite pro 40 fire wire. I bet the Steinberg drivers will be the same since UR stuff is Yamaha and Yamaha bought Steinberg.
