Is this a d*ck size comparison thread? If so, you cannot compete with me..
Btw, I now, can BUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS all my pristine orchestral template on the beautiful tail reverb of a Fiat Uno. Can you dream of a better thing?
Joking aside, Altiverb is glorious. Cannot think on using anything else. It was with v6 and now with x64 v7.
    Peace-.-

It just end up like this with ppl comparing oranges and apples (algo vs impulses).
And even more when reverb makers blend oranges and apples (impulses with algo modulations)
Some tutti-frutti juice guys ?

Joke apart, Altiverb provide a way of doing amazing things. And as i said previously, after trying alternate methods (like VSS), i still prefer the "old school" "Stage Position with no tails" method. Add a little freeware Bricasti impulse on the buses to "lush" things and you are set.
    http://www.samplicity.com/bricasti-m7-impulse-responses/

Be careful, some Bricasti (and others) impulses are badly made : tail cut, level too low...
    Samplicity quick a**

:wtf:seriously?:hahaha:I'm using SO3 v3.1.1 "Trial", I've never seen "pirate flag" (but blocked in firewall). Only if seriously confirmed: what's this Studio One?professional DAW, or policeman? be sure PreSonus will earn new customers by this way! for now their policies about stock plugins is just a joke (IMHO), like funny stock arpeggiator (Kirnu is 100x better!). Komplete Essentials was better in previous SO. This policy will conduct many users to go to another (compete) DAW in case it's really confirmed. Can understand this about their own plugins and PreSonus addons, but about 3rd-party plugins it's strange...:wow: Finally I'm happy about REAPER (and Live 9 Lite), considering SONAR Platinum instead SO3, have more serious stock instruments and effects IMO, intuitive audio & MIDI routing etc...:shalom:

that "pirate flag" is a skull, it means the vst has crashed during scanning before, afaik

    Thanks for this.. :like:

After some testing with Altiverb i can see why they can ask a $1000 price tag. It has a smooth airy quality that is quite superb.
But then again Valhalla plugs have their own uses, for heavy modulated sounscapes valhalla can do things that altiverb cannot do.
It depends on the material and what you want from the plug in after all.

id go with valhalla stuff, its smaller and lighter on cpu, enough for my little netbook to make some shizzle. i am looking for unreal spaces.

its maybe different for a desktop setup and when you really want a real reverb.

so in terms of usability, which one is easier in your opinion

    Reverberate or Altiverb?
I tried reverberate and didn't find it that spectacular that it is worth the hassle to set it up everytime.
it was sluggish in response, to much menu pages and had a delay if I'm not mistaking (above the 3-6 ms range)

Yup. For example, Valhalla shimmer can do some unreal, trippy sounds.. Love that thing..

In terms of usability, I like best Lexicon, `cause I am used to it, but maybe given a few weeks of playing with Altiverb. I`ll change my mind.

As for now, it sounds amazing when used on a piano, without other tracks

    (haven`t tried Reverberate )

Lexicon and Valhalla don't give me the sound of Bob Marley's bathroom. Deal breaker. (Works great for orchestral pieces.)

The main difference is that convolution reverbs tend to have more low frequencies, while algorithmic reverbs have more high frequencies, another factor is the cpu management,to me algorithmic rev are the best option.

Delay you mean latency? No, it has zero latency. If you are saying about the Delay tab then delay comes with the IR setup. For example the default long plate IR has it's own delay which is in it's setup. And about 'sluggish in response' ? Reverberate is just a plugin, it all depends on the IRs you use, or where you load the plugin (insert, send, prefader etc).
