in regards to copyrighting itself. do you guys copyright every song you write? and doesn't the the copyrighting process have a fee involved? so ,for example, you would end up with like 50 songs times the copyright fee. What if you don't have the money before the fact? Isn't that a catch 22?

 

Don't be a coward man.. You reek of it. The only reason I'm not posting my music is because I've had my share of getting flamed for just asking a question because my song was essentially stolen from me. Just because you write songs out of vengeance essential dubstep volume 17 doesen't mean I have to.

 

i don't "write" songs .... I PAY talented musicians to do that AND give them CREDIT for their work for WHATEVER contribution they make to the project. professional business conduct is always best.

 

He already said he's better than us, the real deal.

His music is so great that he's the only one allowed to listen to it.

He just told you in his first post his song was removed because of songwriting and licencing issues,he obviously cant upload it back for those reasons.
Give the kid a break.

We owe no respect to him. The issues aren't in the licensing of the phantom song, they are all in his head.

You are not getting flamed. You are getting called on your ignorance towards copyright issues. And again, i don't know how you can call a soundcloud takedown claim as "my song was essentially stolen from me". Seems like two completely diffrent things to me. You still have your part of the copyright, and if you remove the lyrics and re-record it, it's not hers at all, so i don't know what you're talking about... It's like you care more about the complaining than the solution...

 

Don't take this one too seriously, just use this topic to chat about copyright and stuff like that.

It sounds like the only reason for him not posting the song or any of his music is because there ain't none.

 

there used to be an old trick "poor mans copyright" ..
burn it to a cd and mail it to yourself registered mail
sign for it and DO NOT OPEN IT
include a copy of the sheet music and sign it
in the event of a legal dispute the postmark proves the timeline.
that used to work back in the 70's for intellectual property

I did this back in the 1980s with a cassette tape. I think the envelope is up in the attic somewhere, still unopened. Nothing ever came of the songs though, and looking back they probably weren't worth stealing

I've found the song. Unfortunately, I had to remove the lyrics and replace the vocalist myself, but here it is. I hope my remix doesn't upset the OP. The guy is really a genius, by the way!

That was an advice from Future Music magazine "experts" a few years ago. Plus that you should protect it with that tamper evident security label.. may be stupid, but not so 70s. IMHO, if you end up in court and the other side has nothing - better than nothing.
