    Hi guys,
In the last two weeks I've posted 2 songs here, which are part of my new EP (Nowhere). Here goes the link for the third (and last) song of this EP (Sad: piano), as well as for the full EP:

Everything fine here. I hear the vocals, no problems here. Don't know what could have happened.:dunno:

    The mixes are not good.
Sad piano sounds like theres 6dB peak at 6-700Hz. And the rest are just all over the place. Every track sounds like a wet sponge.

I don't know what/where you're monitoring with/at, but I highly recommend doing some upgrades. Or use reference tracks (actually both is the right way to go).

Sorry if this seems harsh, the way that I see it its better if I say it than a paying client.

Nice effort... Kinda like Violent Femmes meets... Umm.. something else.:hillbilly:

One thing i might suggest is not singing along the same melody that is being played musically.

Or... not playing along the vocal melody...

    Cheers.

The music sounds pretty good. I like the little extra flavor you imbued the drums with at the end of the hook on sad piano. However, I agree that the mixes need work. I can hear that on laptop speakers. I can hardly hear the vocals on my laptop. This is a problem, because you have to consider that if you're making music seriously, then the majority of people who hear your music will hear it first on a laptop or iphone

    Cheers.

Hi guys, thanks for all the feedback and positive criticism. Agreed: I usually put the vocals too behind in my mixes (my bad): the fact is that I am not a vocalist, and I don’t feel at easy singing at all. I sing my own songs because my usual collabs for vocals and lyrics have been much too busy for music. Second: I’m not into pop music, neither into music business (and got no intention of getting into it anymore), so my reference tracks are far from having vocals in the front (yes One Reason, Violent Femmes could be one of them). These are no excuses for problematic mixes, cause I really want my songs to sound good for my few listeners, even though there’s no commercial purpose on doing this (that’s why I totally agree and thank for all the criticism). Third: yes MYCbeats, I need new monitors badly!!! Mine are in a terrible state! Got buy a new pair as soon as possible!
Thanks again for the feedback. They were more than welcome!

Hi WYCbeats, sorry to come back to this, but do you mind explaining the "wet sponge" metaphor? I really didn't get it. I really appreciated your feedback, but to improve the mixes or to be more careful next time, I need to understand what you mean. Thanks in advance.
