alright so I got some akg k702 and now plan on getting a head phone amp. What would you guy suggest? Also I have about 300-400 to play with

 

I think the answer depends on the application. For example; If you are a listener seeking audiophile quality -- grab a SENSE G3-T7, or a Little Dot. However, if you need 'true studio reference' or multiple phone ports (other band members or production techs) -- then you will likely need something geared more for studio application -- like a Nady HPA-4, PreSonus HP60, or an ART HeadAmp. Amps like the Little Dot are killer, but if used in studio setting -- would likely not make for true reliable reference. 2¢

 

no audiophile use... Mainly studio use, something that can power the k702 and provide good reference

 

I got the Art Headamp, because it got a lot of good reviews. I'm disappointed! It doesn't amp at all... if it's going louder, it distorts. Now I have a Lake People G93 wihich is very, very good. Unfortunately, it's expensive. But the best you can get for money.

 

You must have a defect unit.
Why you did not give it back? Surely you can't think this is normal??
