Make an account, and make an offer for 375 instead, the dealer will acknowledge the price. This is 7.5 but the thing is it includes a free update to version 8, and right now steinberg is letting users who activated their cubase 6 or later products now, upgrade to 8.5 pro for free.

Thus, this is also a free upgrade to 8.5. Good way to save money on the retail version. Worked for me. only 10 left. There are alot more on reverb for $400, just make sure its NOT an EDU/EE version. This one i linked is full retail. Happy holiday.

Also I had one issue with a cracked version of Vitrual drummer 2 I think that was the version, it would not run under Cubase but would under Reaper. I asked in a Audiosex they stated to me that Strindberg stopped supporting Virtual drummer.

 

I have been using Cubase for years and years currently using Cubase 5.5 and planning to go to Cubase 8 once I get my new Mac never had any problems with any of the cracked plugins

 

Why would you think that mate? There are a LOT of upgrades to the Cubase 8 comparing to 5.5... whitch you obviously don't need. But I knew what I was buying before upgrading, and I got my moneys worth.

 

Pro Tip: get an educational license. I got an employee discount (my cousin works for a retailer) on an educational license. $165 out the door for Cubase Pro 8. You could probably get the same or similar deal on 8.5.

 

I think there might be issue is in upgrades with the EDU version.

Its hilarious really.. But i so loved that riddle haha.. still so true..

Anyhow, for choosing daw has never been a problem. I know Cubase and as long as there aint any daws that comes with anything revolutinary im sticking to it. Mostly since i do music and dont really care much if you can move a module to this place or this function here. Dont really have time to care if there is a new update two times a week for a function some user wished for or solving bugs when something new was implanted. Sure Steinberg has used their user as beta testers from time to aswell, I so know that but its still a matter of what we all prefer working with.

To me its all about start it up and make music. With excellent midi editing possibilites, good recording audio etc Cubase is all i need. Thanks to the community i had the option of trying most of the others daws including studio one, reaper and so on. I really liked Studio One and maybe its becasue its former Stenberg programmer that was involved there.

I think its great there are options for you all to pick the DAWs you like. I just dont see any point in saying this one is better or worse than any other. I dont get impressed if someone say he bought Reaper on the Steinberg forum no matter what they say. Since it doesnt have any bearing what so ever to me. I only react when people make realities of things that is totaly wrong. They read somethign somewhere, heard it from another etc. My point is we all use our DAWs and plugins diffrent. We stumble on diffrent problem just as we find things just amazing with for the same reason.

And finally since its mostly about workflow, I have never gopne into a Studio to find averything to my liking. BUt that doestn mean i try to rebuild the whole damns thing, telling the technician that this sucks and this is much better. I dont start to repaint the Neve Console or any other mixer for that matter just because i can. I try to adapt to whats there. If i like it i will return, if not well then i use another studio the next time. SImple as that.. Im there for recording music not sit a play with all the cool stuff that i could do with this nice looking rig of effects.

So guys, No matter if youre a Reaper, PT, S1 or any other DAW user, Talk good about it if you need to but if someone like something else why give em shit because of it?

So, Love each other and try help out the best you can instead of this silly DAWs, Pc vs MAC wars.. Collaborate instead and make some fucking aswesome music instead..

Sometimes I wonder what PC's some people use to make music, given the fact that Aero was designed to work on a computer made in 2009...

A graphic layer like Aero is not only the result - windows transparency & such. Sometimes it can be an entire programming platform which can speed up things immensly for programmers in writing code and of course enhance video performance aswell as more and more rendering andi video-processing related code is passed to videocard's GPU instead of CPU (like in gaming). Maybe you don't, but some of us keep 20 plugin windows open, all with meters, needles & shit. And they visually all work in perfect sync. That's why you need Aero, that's why you need DX11 compatible cards and, pretty much, that's why you need a PC good enough to do the music production tasks.

A DAW is not designed just for your own use and your own computer.

 

I do have 20 or more plugins open and I can say I have not had one issue with Areo Disabled in in other DAWS. Maybe I am stupid or something by not seeing it. I can say though I understand what you are saying by passing the some CPU stuff to the GPU.

 

Noup, no issues here. I bought 8.0 pro EDU from the amazon, noone asked me any questions. Upgraded to 8.5. It is the full version, no doubt.
