Just wondering what the consensus is, for those of you who have tried them. I saw another one of their processors just pop up on the dark side. I rarely find the motivation to install new stuff, even if I download it. I kind of like the idea of a compressor that gives you as much control over its detector as Bounce, so maybe I'll actually try it.

But anyway, up until this newest release, I found the BeatSkillz stuff to look kind of gimmicky. Like pretty standard channel strip or multiFX or whatever, souped up to look like more because they've got catchy names and pretty interfaces. Am I wrong?

I find it to be kind of a toy myself. I sometimes use the 'SlamDawg' on my 808 chain but the gain-staging is a bit mucky and I'm usually only touching 1 or 2 knobs max. I tried using 'ThatThing' and found it to be even more of a toy that just layers samples over your track in a less-than-believable way. I didn't mind the chorus built into it but may as well just use a standalone chorus of a better quality. Nice gui though..

Any shit can be use well, but need more fixes...
For me their products are overpriced with plenty of better options.
    Their market:
Cut and paste people that do not play well even 1 instrument and do compare products or study real music and only do
Tricks... Also good for people that loves more the visual than the sound:rofl:
Thats now when the ladies are feeling hurt:bleh:
Just because people think that opinions and music are emotional instead fruit of a hard work:trolls::deep_facepalm:
You seams to have skills more than average, só be prepare To read common sense. You better install, test and probably erase:crazy::cheers:

I had tried ThatThing but it has not impressed me at all. It's a toy. Their new release ("Bounce" compressor) has nothing interesting... more compressors on market (Sknote Disto, FabFilter Pro-C2, u-he Presswerk etc) are better enough to help me for my entire life.

Slam Dawg to me is plastic pseudo-mastering tool to achieve wider, more distorted, bassier and treblier sound, like it is kind of standard tools built in simple/semi-pro editors. All-in-one enhancer in the beautiful GUI. Would be better for a-la winamp/foobar...
Bounce - didn't understand this compressor...
That thing....something interesting, but what about sound quality - didn't pay attention..
    Crysonic-liike stuff...beautiful GUI, bad-average sound...not vice-versa
    IMHO

I agree on Beatskillz plugins being way overpriced.
Slamdawg is kind of a one-pony tool. I never use it on the 2bus (as it is intended to be used), but on some tracks that need over exagerate comp or processing, it can sometimes do quickly the trick (mainly with the "thump" and "pop" at a very low level). I find that the wet and dry sliders are very unhandy when you want to control the output gain as well as the amount of the processing itself (why not a single slider or knob, with wet on one side and dry on the other? :dunno:)
As for That Thing, i have load it on several tracks, and didn't keep it one single time...
But hey, the GUI is beautiful, right?
