    Hi everybody,

I get the idea to share my and collect others Hostsfiles here.

I dont know if other OS like Unix and MacOS has the same sort of hosts file so i created this post here. Maybe admin can move this thread somewhere else.

So let me be the first one to start with:

    My Hostsfile contains:

    Code:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

Hi One Reason. I dont know.
I found some software here on AudioSex and on Internet to prevent Windows 10 from spying around. I think it was their work.
In case for people who dont know, if you buy or upgrade to Windows 10 then you confirm that you even allow them to read your letters/emails etc. Maybe passwords too. Windows 10 has even a keylogger program. Unbelievable.

If that was only a pretty long list then a very long list might crash the server

Agreed, this is something that could help a lot of OSX users, I have done some host blocking, but don't always know the best way to do it myself. Seems like something that could be useful to a lot of members here, and help get in front of a lot of problems etc...

Do people still use Gasmask? etc? I pretty much rely on LilSnitch, gas mask, double down with Apple's built in firewall, (but not online with work going on) etc... editing hosts files is not that difficult on OSX i believe, but not as easy as Windows etc... A clear FAQ by someone who knows what they are talking about would be great. I could help, but I'm afraid I have just done it when I have had to different ways, and I am NO expert...

I've heard that said, but I run a massive host file and haven't noticed any slowdown. If there is, it must be mere milliseconds (Win7/64).That's worth it for all the crapola that gets blocked. With that host file, adblock and ghostery it's smooth running.
