It's merely an observation because it was in the last year that I realized I spent too much time watching AudioZ for releases and not enough time composing music. I managed to empty and delete more than 3 TB of software from my hard drives and only keep the stuff the had a purpose. I realized I was hoarding to "try stuff out"... who the fuck was I kidding?

Since this realization... my music is all over American TV (more and more internationally too) and I'm seeing my BMI royalty statements triple every quarter (in this last year anyway).

I have all you useless leeches to thank for this... as I was disgusted by the whole "take, take, take" and constant demand with no supply. So much so, that I started to supply the things I was buying to give back to the community only to see the same leeches sucking the web sauce from the virtual "love tube" (which is AudioZ). So now... I give, but directly to the teams... because they are a giving bunch and deserve more respect for the work they do... THEY are the one's that should make the money... not the "dealers".

I also miss Catalyst because the leash he had on this wild animal is now sorely missed. I certainly wish AudioZ the best for 2016... but it's not looking good at the moment. I also hope that I am VERY wrong in my assertion... only time will tell.

Strange statement.

As I see it, AZ is the place to up/download new releases, not exactly a place to celebrate Christmas ?!?
It does not have a dedicated place for "small talk" as I am aware of... You can comment the release, thank the teams and help someone that have problems installing something
- So, I don`t understand what would be the "benchmark" for defining a Great Christmas at AZ ?

AS would be the place to feel the Christmas spirit IMO.

Actually, it was a really good pre-Christmas. Not that it matters, or that the non-hoarders gives a damn. Just saying. Not voting.

 

I miss Catalyst as well, to an extent. But I really liked many of his personal releases as well. He was genuinely a pretty decent and good guy, at least to me. But apparently he did some very bad things to deserve his downgraded reputation - but not so much bad enough to get banned. But I heard some people say some not-so-nice things about SAiNT, who is also a VERY good guy. So I wouldn't doubt he had enemies thus leaving him no choice but to dethrone the mods. But he has a lot to take care of at AZ, more so than you could ever imagine. Not only does he have to watch out for rule breakers, but he has to do the java coding, and everything else, because he's the founder of AZ, which was made in 2004. So he has nearly 12 years of doing all that under his belt, which means it's been around throughout the downfalls of places like TPB and torrentcrazy, and "illegal" File hosts and download services like Megaupload, Limewire (which was not only for movies and music I think), and others. I'm not saying AZ is in the same boat or website genre as those sites, I'm just saying that there are other ways it could have went as a forum. We are not criminals over there. We are just poor musicians who need a boost in our skills. ;)

My two cents.

1) I also miss the Cat before this year, but Cat did bad things, that's a fact (and his crew). I saw some of them. Anyone, specially the ones with access to HC messages could saw them.
2) I don't know if Cat did the other terrible things pointed by Saint. But I trust Saint since before Cat joined, so I see no reason to change that
3) Saint barely moderated and administered the site during the bad things, he delegated (among other things because until this year Cat was doing a terrific job). That's a fact too.

... mmm...

4) I don't want to marry Saint. He's not my type

NO, it's just all a hype of the masses! Most of that iLok2 stuff isn't really overwhelming.
It's the developer themselves that are creating that sort of *elusiveness* by adding hard(?) copy protections...
...then people start to think that the unobtainable is actually the best. Once they get it & test it,
they'll discover the hidden part of reality.

 

We should be greatful yet you're requesting stuff. If you wish the stuff go and buy it.
