Last night, i was digging through my computer library and coming across old electro/ house projects from 2010-2012. SHM, Icona Pop, Loreen, were a few names i came across. Amazing how they all still sound so professionally done compared to whats released....curious to know any of your guys opinion on the go to synths in todays electroinc music. I think i've used up all that Sylenth, Spire, and Massive have to offer. Have you guys found any alternatives?

Compared to 2015 releases there's NO WAY Icona Pop or Swedish House Mafia sound better. Electronic music sounds better from year to year, there can't be other way. Check ya ears or check what you are listening in 2015 :)

FYI, Swedish House Mafia use alot Logic Pro's ES2 Synth and Maarten Vorwerk (I hope I spelled the name right) which is the main ghost producer for EDM acts with tens of tracks best sellers on Beatport uses even more "rudimentary" techniques aka Cubase's built in tools and few very common synths. But he's super careful to every tiny detail (EQ, compression, the basic stuff).

You make it sound as 2010/2012 was long ago. :) I'm sure they used pretty much the same synths as now (Sylenth1, Massive, VirusTI, DCAM, Omnisphere, Nexus, etc), but perhaps just layered them alot.
Basically, "it's not what you use but how you use it".

Btw, I'm a Swede just like all your mentioned artists. Maybe they all got mastered at Cutting Room (and that is the reason for their "professional sound" as you put it). Idk.

I think at this point they are layering layered sounds :)
