Like a lot of people, I started out on Gearslutz. In my experience, many of their users don't take particularly kindly to new people trying to learn and will go out of their way to make you feel stupid. I was pretty green when I landed here, asked a bunch of dumb questions, got loads of great help.

Nice new website! Since I wasn't able to log in anymore I though it was down and gone. Imagine my surprise when accidentely googling some info on software I stumbled on this new improved version!

Good body every evening. I'm more of a guitarist than anything else but use Live quite a lot. I used play with bands, but at the age of 61 I've retired from all that hassle and spend far too much time in my studio, which my wife still insists on referring to as the spare bedroom.

The Flying V in my avatar is a 3D model I created many moons ago with a program called Rhino 3D, and it was textured in Cinema 4D.

Here are some more details about me

Physical age - 61.
Mental age - 15 (possibly younger according to the missus.)
Interests - Music, Reading, Music, Football, Music, Movies, Music. Did I mention music?
Regrets - I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention.
Instruments played - Badly.
Musical taste - Debatable.
Favourite addition to a Gin +Tonic - Bottlegreen Elderflower Cordial
Musical genre I keep returning to (despite professional help) - Prog Rock

I've been lurking here and elsewhere for awhile, but I never dare to join in till now, due to my English and the fact that I know nothing about how forum works inside. It's the first time and I feel a little lost with all those menus, profile options, rating, trophies, etc...(I've made exactly the same face).

That said, when I stop to procrastinate, I'm keen on playing guitar and compose in amateur way. As far as I can remember, music has ever been around me, I can't imagine what life would be without. I listen mainly metal, but not only. I have eclectic tastes, looking more for a vibe, regardless the genre.

In the future, I would like to learn how to use a DAW to craft some songs and follow the "Sisyphus" path of mixing.
I have no doubt this site and its community is a gold mine of knowledge that will be useful and needed. Delighted to join you.

others here who speak it... Some Serbians , French... and all over... no one should razz you about your English

This seems like a nice forum, hence I thought I'd register so I'll be able to comment/help whenever it's necessary.

Furthermore, there seem to be quite some musicians around here, and maybe one fine day an old dream will come true: Collaboration with some people who have expertise in the field of making psychedelic chillout music. Making music on your own is good, but collaborations are better somehow, fresh energy, new ideas and all.
