    Hey forum,

So I've been searching about this topic for a while now, yet still could not find the answer.

I do understand that there is a instrument track, linked to the midi track that allows you to insert EQ or whatever you desire. However If I insert a EQ in that instrument track, the same EQ applies to all the instruments linked to my MIDI track (different channels, 1,2,3,4 etc).

Which is my problem. I would like to have a individual EQ for all the channels. I do know you can bounce it out into audio, and do it. But are there any ways that you can achieve this individual EQing thing in a MIDI track?

    Thanks!

Why don't you just put the effects for each instrument track on the instrument tracks themselves?

The channels linked to the MIDI tracks, are all linked to one instrument channel, and one only. Therefore the struggle is real..

Can you route each instrument/layer (I'm guessing this is what you mean, but word it differently) to multi-outs? If yes, than there is your answer.

the problem is midi tracks can't do inserts or sends only instrument tracks can. Which means you either have to duplicate the instrument track per group of effects. Or, Bounce each midi track to audio then setup your fx as you see fit. i would do the former, but i guess it would depend on any given project to make that decision.

in cubase 5 instrument tracks don't support multi out.
so if your using a multi timbral instrument with multiple outputs you need to use it in the vst instrument rack.

think it was cubase 6 or 6.5 that added multi outs on instrument tracks

look up a youtube vid to see how its done or the manual
