    Here's a couple EP's I've engineered, produced, mixed, mastered, etc.
    Can this be an official "SHARE YOUR METAL RECORDINGS THREAD"?
    Lets show off and review each other's songs, and hopefully discover new bands! Here we go:
    IRRADIATION (Thrash Metal/Crossover Crust) from Kelowna, Canada:

    Go ahead and ask how I got any particular sound, I will try to tell ya!

    @Justine
    Drowned is prob my fav of the three tunes, plus the highs are a little less harsh in that one. But in all three, I hear something going on in the mids that I think could use a little cleaning up. Could be just me, tho.

    @ninjas
    I liked the build up in this one. Like increasing tension. The synths sort of get buried once the guitars kick in, though. Sounds like some masking going on.

    Here's one of mine. More hard rock, though. Yeah, Ima bro who loves to rock. You can tell from my voice.

    Damn glad to see the new sub genres! Feel like I can get more involved now.

    Hey, thanks for the listens and feedback! did those EPs over a year ago now, when I was still learning, and I still am always learning. Can't wait to do a REAL good job on the upcoming full length! Thanks again.

    Didn't know about that band and yes, it's a cool song but... yeah, I like Dream Theater and that song has way too many Dream Theater parts in there, it's almost a compilation. :snuffy:

    Thanx, and actually, if you mean the pre-chorus is sounding like dream theatre, I "stole" from the pre-chorus of "summer in the city" by Joe Cocker.....:))))) LOL

    Not the pre-chorus alone but most of the harmonic movements, melodic lines, rhythms and arrangements to an extent. It could be a coincidence even if you got it from other musicians but it's a strange coincidence that it is also widely present in DT's discography.

    Thinking about it, even the band name reminds me of DT (Megalopolis, Metropolis...hmm)

    :) I definetly heard Metropolis Pt.2 at that time. I searched for an alternative name for a megacity. There are not many names ;)
    Originally, Ocean Machine by Devin Townsend and City by SYL inspired me to do the album in 1998. That is why it is the big city theme. And as metropolis was out of the game cause of dream theatre, i named it megalopolis. So far, so true. :)
    Check out Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine and Terria. That is where I got the arrangements and the sound. I definitly stole from Devin Townsend a lot! :) But I still think it's ok and stands on its own, so...

    I have two of many that are in my signature thingy, The older one is one of my old bands and the newer one is a more recent than that is a collaboration. I really look forwards to checking out all the previous posts, Which I will be doing as I'm a metal lifer like I expect many of you are. I've just moved, So all my gear is in storage, So I'm crippled to do anything at the moment but you know how life goes! I'm itching to get myself setup again and writing for something. I'm a fulltime single father of two 24/7:365, So it isn't easy finding time but once they're a few year's older I'll be able to go back to a more fulltime schedule.

    Excited to hear/discover all your works posted, All the best to everyone :wink:
