12 Gb is a sort of 12 Gb and more, if you are not sure you are gonna benefit you can just leave it as it is.

i saw on youtbe some videos of installation and there were some options to check like:
optimize for quad core with x threats. and optimize for 4 / 6 / 12gb ram.
i have quad core i5 760 and 8 gb of ram. what should i use?

Appreciate you replying & sending the link. I have an install of each operating system on separate hard drives. I'm not new to dual booting or installing operating systems. It's not a problem for me to reformat and install this version if it will enhance the speed of my computer. My question is will I see any benefits considering I have a fast computer already or should I just leave my Windows 7 as is. Not worried about any boot problems or updating. Thanks!

Well, it makes a huge difference on old PC/laptop, for newer powerful machines it's more a HDD thing than CPU: folders are faster to load, less ram usage and so on, but if you are already happy with your system i would stick to it. Maybe next time you need to install the OS you can gor for it...

 

For everyone asking for RAM settings go like this:

for 5 GB go for 4 GB option

for 7-8-9-10-11 GB go for 6 GB option

if you have 12 Gb or more go for 12 GB options

If you want you can try different setups anyway and restore default settings from options

Funny thing is, I found that torrentlink posted on mediafire by someone named Mitta but was reluctant to download because of the size of the iso 3.5gig. As big as retail! I thought the iso would be a slimmed down version. In search for a well seeded torrent link I came across smaller sized verions (less than half the size )but since these did not have much seeds and you had mentioned they were popular, I didn't have much faith in them.

In the end it reeled me in(I'm not much of a joiner).

Now, maybe it isnt "propper" but for the likes of me that do not join or post easily (I was itching to during the WarezWars but better angels prevaled) the data is out there... I will not go so far as to state the actual name of the iso because for some reason that hasn't been done already(as far as I can remember). But it would have been real easy to find if it had been...

All in all I apreciate the convenience of having everything that's needed packed together.

Well, first thing this is not a slimmed version. I have already written in the notes on the first post, you aren't losing anything from Windows 7 Ultimate. There are more functions and hidden stuff to be more clear. For the ISO size, i've talked with one of the guy who created this, and this one is the only one versione they released about Windows 7. Any other version could be fake,wrong or damaged or bad labelled (Windows ICE XP is still on the net). So please before installing make sure that your are using the right ISO. Any other iso is used at you own risk as anything else downloaded from the net.
