This tune is a bit catchier than my previous one in the Gmaj scale.

Creating a catchy melody and riff are the most tedious part of any song writing process.

    The used chord progression is:
Ebm Gbmaj Ebm Abmaj Ebm Gbm Bbm Abm

Who would create a melody using the above progression that sounds better than mine (simple, short but effective)?

I think songs that do not have an obvious and distinctive melody (like Drum and bass genre that I hate it) would be forgotten soon or later.

An integral element of the song writing process, it's actually both easy, fun and ultimately rewarding for the naturally talented.

Are you sure angling isn't a better hobby for you? lol

Unfortunately most of these days pop songs (about 90%) lack good melodies. I am not pro but have good ears to distinguish better ones. Having just good knowledge of working with loops or mixing them together will never turn anyone to be a successful musician.

Most great songs are scored on the piano (or guitar), both the melody and the harmony, before any stylistic elements are applied.

  7. Just two things; pretty please with sugar on top of your favorite ice cream flavor create an account on soundcloud or post them on youtube, anything else but force these good folk to download your files from media..., and also, when were you planning to use the actual chord you state your piece is written in, Db? Thanks, sharing is caring, please work with us and not agin.

    Some simple pointers:

You might have used the Db major key signature (collection of notes) but that piece is in Bb minor.

It has only two harmonic movements as you can figure out easily by the bass.

The chord progression that you wrote on your first post is nothing but "forced chords", some don't even belong to the key.. and even though you tried to hide them a bit, they clash like hell against the rest. Just remove them and think of using the chords that support the music you have there, not random major/minor chords rooted on scale notes..that's just not how music works, specially in the style you presented.

    Hope this helped ;)

you can listen to it on MF, but I still agree, for these kinds of stuff SC > MF

strange, it's one of my favourite parts of composing. Well whatever floats your boat.

    Thanks dudes! You're always supportive.
I really appreciate your watchful advices. But these were just simple loops with all of their imperfections. I just tried to put some melodies on them but in a wrong way I know.

But these ones are a bit better:

Maybe most of song parts could be done systematically like choosing chords or etc. but I think creating memorizable melodies like Daft punks are just the gifts from the Lord. Even most talented people would not be able to do that.

Does anyone know a better way to write better melodies not like my random ones, not even related to singing and extracting the related notes from it or not using tools that just create random melodies?

Once again, you' re trying to force chords that don't belong and instead of enhancing the melody they end up clashing against the melody, thus weakening it. For that genre, chords should SUPPORT the melody. You have to rethink the way you're looking at those musical aspects.

I'm a guitarist and pretty bad at playing keys despite having a shed load of synths. Sometimes it's a good idea to throw in a MIDI file of someone else's track and then tweak it until it becomes something totally different.

No offence but none of your chord sequences seem to "gel" for me and seem a bit dis-jointed.
