    Update: 01-Dec-2015:

Here comes my new track...!! My efforts are towards good production tracks with good understanding of sound design, mixing and later on basic mastering. This time I tried FM synthesis and guitar, flute, fire-crackers sounds with nice sounding melody.

I hope I have improved a bit since my last attempts.

The track is called: An Old Guitar Ride Of A New Year Eve

Actually the concept came to my mind when I was travelling to my hometown on regional new year eve just a day after Diwali (English translation: The festival of lights). Diwali is a very famous Indian festival.

Kindly request for feedback... how it sounds in general. Specific feedback / critique about mixing, sound design and flow of the track is also welcome. It is not at all mastered.

    ............................................................................................................................

    Update: 01-Nov-2015:

Hello... Friends...!! I am here again with totally different flavor of music. Basically, it has tribal-ish rhythm and drum sounds (African)... and top of it, Indian style of melody with calm and chill sounds with Indian / Bollywood feel.

The track is called "Gandy Meets Mandy". (Originally It was thought to name it... Gandhi Meets Mandela. But later on decided to change it... to avoid hurting any culture or community directly due to my "not-so-great" (if anybody feels so) track.

This is my dedication to world... All human beings and all children of mother nature...

Deep peace is intended with is musical piece.

I kindly request for feedback and suggestions for future work. This is my only second well-thought attempt.

    Thank you.

    Dear AudioSEX Users,

I have been here watching discussions since quite some time now. I love the atmosphere, kind-generous-supportive members & moderators of this forum.

I am very new to sound design and music production processes like tracking, mixing and mastering. I am not feeling bad while I admit that I am almost starting with basics of music production. So, it is very much important, in my opinion, to know how much good or bad I am doing.

Therefore, I decided to share my work with the community and experienced ears of members for feedback. :)

The track is called: Two Telephone Calls

Something special about this track is that it is completely made from one synth (including drums and percussion sounds).

The synth is Archetype Instruments' Lokomotiv (a very buggy, small freeware but it sounds very good)

All used fx are freeware or DAW's native ones. The track is not mastered and it is in 'as it is' form after rendering from DAW.

I am very open for any kind of feedback. Be it positives or negatives about track. Appreciation or criticisim about specic portion of track. Also, please do not hesitate if you have any very harsh words for criticism. I am open to it also.

If interested, there are some other older tracks also available for feedback on my sound cloud page.

Thank you very much AudioSEX and its sister site. Whatever I have learnt about electronic music tools till now is mostly because of these site. I have no words to show my gratitude.

So, BIG BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY WHO ARE ASSOCIATED WITH MUSIC COMMUNITY, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.

Nice sounding instruments and mix. The song/composition is just 4 chords repeating most of the time, though. So I would have to say nice mix and development, but the song itself just doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't have a melody or much structure of it's own. Just a bunch of cool sounds to one measure chords repeated, mostly. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply, mate. No need to be sorry. To listen good and (EDIT: bad) about the track, I am requesting through this thread. I appreciate your effort to listen it, at least. I will try to improve in future. EDIT: just now I realised that I missed a word in excitement.

  5. Nice early effort and creative use of Locomotiv. Ditto what brother rhythmatist said. If you like Locomotiv which I guess is a Roland Juno-esque clone you would probably dig TAL-U-NO-62 http://tal-software.com/?Products:VST_TAL-U-No-62 which is not buggy at all and probably is a "mo' bedda" sounding synth, at least to me. Keep it up and I look forward to listening to more songs from you in the future.

I like it, I can live with 4 chords repeating most of the time

Great job m8. Dont listen to the nay sayers. If he cant hear a melody then there is something wrong or tired about his ears. No offence. Checked out Cloud Dwellers also. That track is by far your best and where I believe you truly shine.

As said, real good music is made with a great melody... real melody is really an advanced task that most of pop idols do not know.
But music is made of contrast, in dance music the contrast is a poor breakdown, so its about dynamics, but the contrast can be with chord progression, tonal, rhythm, instrumentation an so on... This causes a comparison that enhances each section.
Theres a lot of freeware with desk, preamp, tape and valve emulations that can help and make the track less raw.
Its good to know what, where and why you done the fxs!
Good music is made with hard work, keep on!

I don't like much to give opinion like if I was some Vangelis or Bach, but it sounds cool.
Maybe too much experimentation in the middle to my taste, but sounds nice pal.

    Nice track as a newbie.
Keep your spirit up, don't stop here. More listening will give you the 'ears' to be the first critic of your own music.
    Wish you best!

i thought it sounded a lot like a video game soundtrack. and i do not mean that to be taken negatively. you've done some creative things with the sounds, and as other have pointed out the production quality is very good for something that has not been mastered. it sounds clean and clear and fairly well balanced (the drums seem to get a little lost in some places). all in all, nice work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will surely try it in future.

To add some more info, actually I am trying my hand with all aspects of music production one by one.

To start with sound design (I understand it as first step after step of 'composing'), in my opinion, there is nothing as best as choosing a synth and make all sounds of track as much as possible.

Creating limitation for myself raises creativity level, IMO.

Hope I am on right path when I am starting.

Of course, commercial plugins/instruments give result of another level. But, to start, freewares has been my first choice.

When I find myself capable of using such basic freewares, I will be eligible for using commercial plugins, IMO.

Please correct if I am on wrong way. Thank you.

Thanks for appreciation. I think you are talking about some portion of kind of 'epic' drums in second part. I had realized that it is not sounding so well.

I wanted to correct it also. But unforutately, I could not come out with that 'epic drum' kind of sound. So I played with 'ambience' (the reverb plugin by smart electronics) to get similar feeling.

But result was not the way I intended.

I am yet to know how create that 'big' sounding drums/percussion such we here in trailer music.

    Thanks.

I am really sorry. I will surely have to check it.

    Edit:
I checked it again. I confused myself with TAL-U-No-LX. Apologies. Thanks for clarifying.

@Kookaboo :) thanks a lot for effort in listening the track. You got me almost right. But I trying to change this. Wanna move from sound and fx design to a proper structured song. Hope I can do that.
