For me I think is better to wait a month for feedback, too much risk.

Just wait bro..give it a few months. No need to always jump on the newest shiny thing in the audio world. Doesn't always work out in your favor.

Why break up with your current girlfriend that does everything you want her to, just to get a new girlfriend that can't cook, won't clean, or start endless issues?

    Stay put.

As always, no, wait a little or just make a test partition, don't rush into upgrading, if you can, test your own stuff and you will know, of course, if you have time and all, if not, just wait a little longer :mates:

I would stay with Mavericks until it's not supported anymore, really like that version

    DON'T UPDATE YET!!!
Some info from Steinberg and Pesonus

    STEINBERG

Important information regarding OS X 10.11
    September 28, 2015

On September 30 Apple will release the new OS X version El Capitan. Our first tests show that different issues occur when running Steinberg products under OS X 10.11. We therefore cannot recommend our customers to update to El Capitan.

Detailed information regarding product compatibility will be published from October 23, 2015, after completing all compatibility tests. However, we can inform you today that Cubase 8.0.30, Nuendo 7.0.30 and the MR Tools and UR drivers are not compatible with El Capitan and advise you not to update your operating system until we provide compatible versions.

If you rely on a trouble-free operation of our products, we recommend waiting with the update of El Capitan until the entire compatibility chart for all Steinberg products has been published.

    PRESONUS

Apple OS X 10.11 is about to be released. Before you update, we wanted to make you aware of some compatibility issues that may occur with your PreSonus hardware and software.

    StudioLive 16.4.2AI, 24.4.2AI, 32.4.2AI, RM16AI, and RM32AI:
Smaart is not functioning in OS X 10.11.0. This appears to be an Apple issue as it is functioning in the current beta of 10.11.1. If you use an AI-Series or RM-Series mixer and rely on Smaart, we advise you to wait to update your OS until this issue is resolved.

Classic (non-AI) StudioLive 16.0.2, 16.4.2, 24.4.2 mixers, FireStudio Mobile, FireStudio Project:
Universal Control version 1.7.2 or lower will not function correctly on OS X 10.11.1. You must update to Version 1.7.3 which is already available for download in your my.presonus.com account.

    AudioBox 22VSL, 44VSL, 1818VSL:
Starting with OS X 10.11, Apple has restricted kernel level mixing access for third party vendors. This means that VSL software will no longer function on Mac operating systems beyond version 10.10. On OS X version 10.11 or higher, AudioBox VSL devices will only operate as class-complaint audio interfaces.
If you currently do not use VSL software, your AudioBox VSL interface will continue to function as you expect.

    All PreSonus customers:
We have tested Studio One 2.6.5, Notion 4.0, and higher versions. These products are compatible with OS X 10.11. That said, we have seen notifications from other vendors including Native Instruments that there are also 10.11 compatibility issues with some of their products.
To avoid any issues, we strongly advise you to check with all of your hardware and software providers before updating to OS X 10.11.

    I hope his helps!

never ever again.. for the rest of your life update your mac, period. With mac, you never, ever, ever, ever, ever, update your OSX for your audio production computer... that's it, end of story.

The only possible time you would ever update your OSX, is if audio software you own and MUST use, has a developer that no longer supports your current OSX... but that's ONLY assuming, that you must have the update to operate it successfully... BUT... IF that software works fine though, no need for the update, and no need to update your osx.

actually almost everything is running fine in el capitan (been running beta for ages) except izotope plugins go crash happy (except ozone6). some other plugins don't pass au validation in logic but thats not really an issue. contrary to what others say, izotope plugins crashing is the first audio related issue i have ever had with an early update of a mac. fortunately i always do it on my old mac first, so this will be the first time i won't upgrade my main mac

edit: i have now found out that the izotope plugs were not crashing because of el capitan, they were hitting heads something else running in the background... i have tested almost 100 plugins now and they all work fine, even native instruments ones!

You can add the Image-Line plugins (the alphas) to the "unsupported" list(at least Harmor and Sytrus). I Time Machine'd back to Yosemite

Virtually all audio interface manufacturers and several plugin dev's have already warned us off of this update.

No. In fact, boycott this shit. It hasn't even been a year since Yosemite was released, and Apple stopped refining (and security-patching) it in favor of El Decapitan. Boycott it, because Apple has to be told, "We're tired of letting you force upgrades of software which is running fine on our current, or previous, versions of OSX, which you keep busting out with increasing frequency. We're tired of wondering which software will be deprecated – won't work anymore – on the new version of OSX. We're tired of its being all about Apple, and not about us."

I'm afraid Mavericks isn't going to be supported in 2 years, that's just :woot:

I'll make the jump. I'm not musically active right now. And where one plug/app doesn't work, three others will.

In Logic, plugs like Native Instruments didn't scan, HOWEVER, they do work if you use Blue Cat Audio's Patchwork. All of NI's stuff worked fine in Ableton Live. Waves stuff worked fine as well in both DAWs. My ReFX Nexus didn't work though. Some type of Dongle error (OS related, not Logic X)

Very minor speed performances, but nothing else I can really discern from Yosemite.

EDIT: Pro Tools works fine also. No MIDI driver issues with any of the DAWs. My controller and interface didn't hiccup at all after the update. Wine (which I run FL Studio through) ran seamlessly. 32 Lives works fine.
