Mastering proces

    Hy everybody. I am a beginer in audio mixing and mastering. I recorded some bands (my friends) and trying to mix it and do some mastering. Hope I will find som good tips here from experienced people for mixing and mastering. Glad for your coment here. (Sry for language :))

    welcome !

    i really recommend you to do a lot of research on youtube, get a good grip with mixing first, learn EQ and compression first, the rest will come sooner or later. remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, so don't get disappointed with your first few mixes, they will sound very very bad after you listen them back in a few years. when i started i was overwhelmed by the mass variety of plugin choices and of course i've used way too much of everything (too much reverb-delay-compression-limiting) .

    can you please upload a rough mix you did recently so the good people here can give you some tips .

    Here is what i recorded, mixed and mastered for last, it was EP in 2011. http://bandzone.cz/shed
    Now I started again with recording rock, hardrock, rock n roll, music. I know that I must try many combinations and listening a lot of it.
    But some specifically of what plugins may I use for mixing and what can their do with it should be helpful. And mastering to.

    don't bother with 3rd party until you've mastered everything that comes with your DAW.

    find the limitations of your daws plug-ins. and then you'll know what you need extra.

    id recommend a high-end mastering facility that's very budget friendly rather than doing it yourself.
    as experienced as i am and the top of the line equipment i have i don't bother with mastering.
    ive mixed songs this year that went straight to radio that never got mastered.. simply my mix with a UAD Precision Limiter on it.

    i care about certain hardware on my masters, top quality converters, pristine monitoring(room and monitoring)
