my mood is great, just a bit tired of you keep asking for your threads to be deleted just because you don't like what is being said. BTW all your deleted posts and even the thread I deleted for you is still open for all staff to see, ask one of them for help. Good luck with that. FFS you report your own threads WTF is that about???? Please stop abusing the Report system, and simply own up to your threads or not post any

I know, thank you for reaching out to me first time, appreciate it really, hope my SPAM reports were useful for doing your job and based on that I kinda feel I can ask for two thread removals, but hey

can i ask you what expansions keep you not to use those softsynths and prefer kontakt libraries ?

Reported them for removal, how should I go about it, send you PM or find someone who is online or just report for first mod who see it?

Don't know, I were mod here and that's how we rolled, if something changed, forgive me, is there a form for thread deletion, does somebody else should report them or what?

i dont use libraries in kontakt, i use audio only. i could also sample something from these softsynth if i would need.

kontakt just works faster for my music genres as softsynths.

Most of sounds of today EDM comes
Just hear some nice preset from Sylenth, the reverb itself sounds bad. But it sounds good with the sound coming from Sylenth. Hive sounds just bad and cheese.

Personally I love Hive. I find making presets really easy and love the simplicity of it. The sequencing on it is great and for me it all works. Without doubt it's my favorite synth at the moment. I've never really connected with Sylenth though I've seen others do some great things with it. Others love it. For me personally it is a little outdated and could do with a makeover possibly.
In essence they are different products and some will prefer one over the other. Apples & Oranges & all that
The real important thing is finding what you are comfortable with and enjoy using and connecting with the creative process. That's the main deal imo.
If you don't like the reverb on one don't use the reverb. There's often so many ways to get a result etc.
Use something else possibly for your reverb. If the workflow suits you then great.
I've seen some get the most amazing results with what others consider "Trash" & the flip-side people making trash with what some consider the "Best of the best".
Simple fact is no synth/guitar bit of kit will make u an Artist.
Only ideas, experimentation and application can do that.
That comes from having a conception through to application and having fun and enjoying it.
There will never be a "best" or this and that and what others consider rubbish some will find great ways to use those products in a unique manner. Others of course will have different opinions and that's all this is. My own small opinion

There are SO many libraries for kontakt, I sometimes forget it's also an extremely powerful sampler

    I'm slightly confused here.

We've probably ALL tried Dune2, Spire etc and seen a number of similarites between them all, I'm just curious as to how they end up being discussed in a shoot-out poll between Hive and Sylenth?

@Clandestine said it best and there is really no reason to append his statement..

... it's just a matter of personal preference. There are many ways to skin a cat, and both are competent synths.... it really is in the hands of the beholder... like asking which is better, a gibson sg or a fender strat? depends on who is using it and what is going through their brains at the time...

I agree with thanthrax... both can be good... but for me, its not a question of "does this one work for this track?.." etc. Generally, I just choose a synth and make it work (which by no means is an indirect comment about skills.. its just how I work). I have a variety of synths, some I use a lot, some I grab every once and awhile for a change of pace; but oddly, most of 'em, I have not heard one preset (so not sure which one is "better" for that reason). I do basically everything from scratch generic default setting. Although, there are some basic mid-bass sound presets I made myself that I will start off with from time-to-time.

Sticking to the topic... well, there's 3 sides of EDM. Agressive, smooth and between. For bigroom stuff, banger-type of EDM then Sylenth1's filters are unique in an agressive way. Some like them, some don't. I personally like it for some really screaming and katana-kutting leads. I think Hive is leaning towards the smooth side of EDM. Both can do "in between" as well, but for agressive stuff i'd pick Sylenth1 anytime. It's just a matter of taste.

sorry xsze he doesn't like to help out anyone, just likes to push his tiny authorities around and threats ! he won't last as a mod here

That's him all right I guess, even before he became mod he was one of the most unpleasant members here, whenever you see his comment he is just there to be an ass, so that doesn't surprises me

Agree, it's not fair to those who took time to write in them, but for the sake of all of us than, remove your useless contribution in here than, because you were the reason for my removal request, no other than mod is personal picking (even if member asked to go without it) and OT-ing.

feel how you both want, But twice you have started threads and twice you have asked for them to be removed along with reports of what certain others said in those threads, I deleted one of your threads as is, but I am not going to do it again unless some rules have been broken. You can't start threads and suddenly want them to be taken down just because you don't like what is being said in them. Yesterday you sent in a report about ovalf just because he said the "Best browser wins" And because of that and a few other things said you then wanted the whole thread deleted , well I think it's not fair to the other members that took the time to reply for me to do that

You already said that and I answer on it, stop bringing that up again trying to make me look bad and pose as voice of reason, you really aren't, because another issue is you as mod personal picking and OT-ing, at least you should know better these things and don't do it, but actually stop others, but you failed.

Let's drop it, there's few other mod's in here, if you won't to do the cleaning here, guess some of them will, if you see my request in future, leave to others to deal with them, easy as that.

Just a general term Xsze maybe a little "over the top"
In essence I personally try to judge every single product on it's own inherent strengths and weaknesses rather than compare but accept such is inevitable.
To me personally they are all individual and whilst there will be similarities there is always opportunity to find your own way.
People will always compare & have done it myself but now think there is little value in comparing but rather trying to point out the respective good and bad points of each without comparing where possible.
The word "Versus" tends to turn it into a sort of battle that it shouldn't be imo but hey I don't mind such & that's cool
    particularly apt description

Both guitar's both got strings, green apple, red apple, different pick-ups, different bridge, different wood, different natural tone..... different just about everything imho whilst both being labelled as members of the "holy trinity"
Whilst it may not apply it's most definitely correct imho.
Bottom line is it doesn't matter which is whatever because as pointed out in the right hands, with good ideas you can achieve just about whatever you want too. As for polls, I don't mind them and they a bit of fun I suppose and that's cool but an in depth analysis of each from an impartial source always more useful. Of course most of us aren't impartial as we have preferences etc but all cool :mates:
As for arguments & hostility et al, personally I don't care for such but it has a rightful place I suppose and action is the fundamental precursor of consequence.

Personally I prefer Hive & that's it

again, well said @Clandestine... hostility on this kind of discussion is unnecessary and leads nowhere.

I've seen people using stock synths in garageband make better choices and sounds then those using everything in existence. It's how it's used, ... all we are trying to do is communicate, and there are many many ways to do so. A great synthesist/programmer can make something awesome out of beat thang or whatever, a crappy one can make dribble out of the whole u-he/soundtoys/spectrasonics/NI collection....

btw, gave Hive a little test yesterday, and boy, it sounded pretty darn good out of the box.... creamy, noisy, responsive, .... I haven't used it in the past (just got it), but will in the future... But I will also continue to use Sylenth and am happy to have other arrows at my disposal....

Totally agree sisyphus & you are spot on

I personally hate fruity loops, can't stand it, Just isn't for me. People say crap Daw etc, some say fantastic but i do think it's overpriced.
However I watched a vid of a guy who obviously knew his way around it & the results were great.
For him obviously, workflow was spot on he knew it inside out and got some great sounding stuff.
Is all about comfort & vison and with that in place most boundaries imposed by software can be transcended with a few workarounds.
I'm just comfortable with u-he stuff & for me it works on nearly all levels I need it to. Can always delve further though.
I might even give Sylenth another test out & see it I can get to grips with it a bit more in depth as can't harm to do so
