You can create the same effect with certain filter plugins, such as fab filter volcano 2, cableguys filtershaper 3, ect. I guess you could create the same effect with a stock filter plugin but it's more complicated in terms of automation. the two plugin's mentioned above make it easy to do this. leaves you with lots of options for creativity

 

do you know a certain preset? or somethin like that? would save me a lot of time really but i appreciate ur help. i think it has some panning automation too

it doesnt take long to recreate this. split it up into 2.

1 create a automation paning in 1. going from left to right or vise versa. any DAW can do this.
2. create reguler lowpass filter and automate it over time, so it fits with your panning automation. This step can be done with any EQ really.

what DAW are you working in?

 

It's more like dual mono lowpass filters (affecting Left and Right individually).
Add a lowpass filter on left channel only, and add another lowpass filter on the right channel only. Automate them differently, so that one stays a bit open while the other one closes, vice-versa, etc.
