As some of you know, U-he is offering this dinosaur-"crossgrade" for Zebra 2 on their site and despite the fact that even the U-he support recommends catching this deal, I thought about doing this.

The problem is, that they do not accept my Yamaha-Vintage organ, which is kind of
vintage, but isn't truly a Synth..

So I thought on biting in the sour apple, thinking the $-price (199$) in € (thought about 1€=1,12$; then you cut of 12% from 200$ which is the €-price [176€]) isn't that painful.
But actually as a €-paying customer you are f*****, because you additionally have to pay your national VAT.
So adding 19% to 176€ would be around 209€, but look there:
U-he is calculating with 184.01€, which let me re-calculate my previous calculation, because I thought I'd be wrong. But when you change the currency to $ it shows this (incl. adding 19% VAT to the $-price): Now converting $ in € (watch at the date, pretty actual): My calculations seemed to be right. But actually I'm still pissed of, because U-he charges you bad exchanges.

So my question is: does anybody has a Vintage-Synth and could be so kind and send me the required pic via PN, so I can at least save 50 bucks and land somewhere in my pre-calculated price-range ? (And I don't have to die, because I'm a student). He or she will be definitely my hero ! (And I'm definitely naming my first successful song after him [if i'll ever be famous])

P.S.: So I'm hoping to not violate the forum-rules or being in the wrong one for this, if so, prompt me to delete it.

 

Really, they say, "All you have to do is send us a photo". Just find some obscure foto and bang, a quick fiddy. Here's one...

I don't know if they are "dumb" or just don't care, but I have a reply from their report, which states that they are totally okay if you just send a (obviously real and actual taken) picture with the card. Although it's still better if someone PN's me one

 

@ArticStorm Yeah I already tried, and obviously they're really friendly (even reply in your native language, if they can speak it ), but they have this "everybody gets the same-policy", which means everybody has the same condition on buying and getting discounts.
If you watch closely they never offer any discounts for their products (except if they offer it in the beta-phase), so there are no EDU- or student-licenses or anything else, and also there aren't different conditions for the Dinosaur-Crossgrade. So everybody get's treated "equally"...

 

Why even buy it from U-he. Sweetwater has it for $199 all day everyday do yourself a favor and buy in the States and save your self the tax. still going to be cheaper that what U-he offers even if you do send a pic of an old synth

 

Or get it from JRRShop also for $199. Great store!

 

Okay, then I should consider doing this. Actually I'd presume this isn't quite legal if I buy it in US-Stores, to then "ship" it back to EU...but yeah okay, I thought about doing this before posting... Thanks for all your replies until then

it's a digital download so anyone with a credit card should be able to purchase. it never hurts to try. BTW the price is not different at all, just the tax is different
