    I have this one,...
Nothing good and nothing bad about it, just like the real things...
I mean, real amps can be a pain in the ass too sometimes..
    I love my real amps.
They can sound so great, but there you are, your shit all set up, and an engineer, who has a a different view (can we D.I. you ?).
Looks like só many people are só biased.

    In those cases...;
I´ll still stick with AT3/revalver for any and in combination (amp)stage (pre and or power)(both speaker IRs are off) and IRs (various, but love rewire, recabinet and Godscab) and impedance curves for the speakers etc..
This MixIR2 is really unbelievable !
It all depends on the sound you´re after..
LePou is great too...; it really does not matter...
What is the sound you´re after ?

You know it has to sound like YOU !!!
    Don´t you ?

    Oh..
And I´m a real guitar player, with real stuff ... and played and recorded with everything anybody could wish for.
Somehow I´m still blown away by some of those life/time savers like what I´ve just mentioned..
Don´t want to waist hours searching for things in a studio no more...
    Cheers !

    Oops ...
    Missed the free part...
Well, it does not matter what you´ll use.
You´ll have to dig into whatever you´re using.
    And keFIR_v1_2ch.dll and Poulin_LeCab2.dll are FREE !
And guitar amp modeling will be a better place for you to ask those questions.

I'm also a real guitar player and I've had all the VSTis under the sun and also real gear ofc...Fender twin , Orange thunderverb, Diezel herbert, Marshall 2203, Mesa dual... I'm not after any specific sound/tone actually, and I sound like myself on all of these for all that it matters, Im no fanboy anyway chappy.... for the umpteenth time I was just curious to see what kind of free-ware were available for clean tones ...I have better things to do than spending my free time trawling for VSTIs and just called on people to share their kownledge in case I missed something...as you (i hope) know there are loads of distorted/over-driven amp models freely available (some better than others!), but it seems no one has bothered to make free models of vintage fenders, or a jazzchorus or a carvin amp...maybe software coders are somewhat averse to clean tones! ^^

yeah I guess that's your problem...you often miss the point dont you? :bleh:

and for your knowledge lepou, kuassa etc didnt code any specific clean models

    Code:
I was about to do a cover of Gary Moore:s classic tune Parisienne Walkway and i tried all my gears i had at that time to get the tone i wanted.

This was in 2001 i believe

I had an modified Marshall JCM 800 with matching 4X12 cab and a Laney VR100 with matching 4X12 cab and a very cheap zoom multieffect pedal.

I try to tweak the Marshall and the Laney but for some reason i could not get the sound i was looking for.

After reading last issue of SOS i know why..
It was recorded with a Mesa Boogie i always thought it was a Marshall..

    @ Yubidi,

 Nothing better to get the most clean... hmm, 'CRAPPY' sound that you had never got with your guitar, and this even with the most fabulous 'LesPaul' Vintage, a 'PRS' (Paul Reed Smith), and all similar 'high-end' guitar models...

And what about the difference of impedance between your Guitar output jack and your Computer ?

    @ Lysergyk,

An only advice, and even if your 'Audio Card' (either 'internal' or 'external') provides you already dedicated inputs that can handle and make the conversion between these differences of impedance : simply get a 'D.I. (Direct Input) Box'. Plug it between your Guitar and your 'Audio Card' (or even your Computer 'In-Board Audio' if you don't have the means to buy a more better/professional 'Audio Card'). Then, use all the Amp Simulators, All-In-One (AmpliTube, GuitarRig, VOX, Overloud TH2,... ), Pedals/Stompboxes VST Plug-Ins, Cabs,... that you want, or better, need to get this so wanted 'Clean Sound'.

My suggestion would be to get a 'Radial' model, but I'm agree with the fact that they're far to be cheap. You can certainly get a cheaper 'D.I.' that can perfectly make its work.

    Just for info :

    'Radial' Passive D.I. Boxes

    'Radial' Active D.I. Boxes

    Studio 555,

    I just had to laugh...

    And you´re straight on !
    HUGS !!

Yeah...;Looking for the obvious in a vst...
    No kidding !
And it has to be free...
Well, google is your friend ( not always )..
But,damn... studio 555 gave a lot of ideas and great tips!!!
I had to play Jazz on a PA straight on one day.
    Turned out great.

But I had the opportunity and luck to have things looked after..
Me straight into the table is no big deal...

    But it´s everyone´s game really..
