all i can say is good luck to any plug in company that tries to prove that one . however karma is a bitch so if you make money and like something buy it , if for no other reason so the developer can make improvements and put out new products . this is a cycle and you gotta make sure to puff puff give .

If the item remains in the possession of the original owner it's not theft.

I do not steal at all. I bought stuff and shared, BIG DIFFERENCE, Like I said before. I own what I use, the only thing i use warez for is to test because of the damn drop out or noise every so often, I consider that a nuisance when I am testing so yeah I do use warez for that from time to time but otherwise I am 100% legit, and it really does help to get paying work. For example there is a guy that lives near me and always likes to show his music off to me and while it is good, but he always goes on and on how he used Ozone or some of the Waves plugins, meanwhile he rides a fucking bike and works for Burger King, I can't take him or his music seriously because I know he uses warez and is not willing to put in the cash he expects to get out of it all

I just fail to understand why we have to be on a mission all the time.
Yes, it's the right thing to do to pay for what you use. I do that, you do that, most people do. And if somebody doesn't - that's not our business.

And @Mykal, what your saying is that you measure with double standards. Your "try before you buy" approach is comprehensible to me, as I do it likewise. But you are in fact using warez and there is no leeway. It's a rule we make up ourselfes that it's ok to use warez if we buy the product in the end (which we btw. don't if we don't like it after all). But either you use warez or you are 100% legit. We neither have the moral nor the legal high ground to put ourselves above others (I'm not talking about that showing-off douche ;) ).

I never said I don't use warez. all i said is that i don't use warez on music i put out. all my tracks available only have sounds from legit owned software. you may or may not agree but for me that is the higher moral ground way to go. I try and like it. then I buy it if not i move on, You're assuming this i do this all the time. but not the case. many developers do give a full un-restricted 10 or more days demo and that is all I need to figure it out. No need for warez in that case. My main thing is the damn noise , even worse the audio drop out. That is all that pisses me off.

Copyright inhibits creativity and free expression. There is no such thing as an original idea. Plagiarism should be considered legal, as long as it is called "homage" to or having been "inspired by" that from which it's stolen. I might look like an creep for "using" my buddy's idea for my song, but I'm the one who has more of a career going on. I just kind of take things from all over; it's the "delivery" that counts. Look at that guy, for example – he's a total scumbag, but he's making a lot of money and touring all over the world; you can't argue with that. I mean, every scene in that Tarantino movie was "lifted" from obscure movies which only a dozen video-store clerks in America have seen, and people line-up to lick his bunghole. I don't see why I should have to pay for food – it's a human necessity. What's the problem, Officer? I was just shoplifting. No, it wasn't rape, I just needed some sexual release. They should legalize murder because there are so many people in my way.

I guess most of us have watched "RiP! - A Remix Manifesto", it's pretty old. There's also "Walking on Eggshells: Borrowing Culture in the Remix Age". Just 24 minutes long and, the last time I saw it, it was on Vimeo...

Actually I don`t see a problem with that...

    - You create Your music with "illegal" content
    - You than listen what You created and look if You can replace the illegal stuff with something free
    - The things You can not replace with free content, You buy, and than You sell Your music.

if it happens that You don`t have enough money to buy some expensive content, than make some compromises and modify Your creation.

I have released 3 tracks recently using warez, unfortunately I have made no money yet . Fully intend to buy legit copies of stuff I have used if I make money from using these projects. I have however bought Cubase Pro 6 and Halion 5 which cost a pretty penny.

Now my question is what about people who use cracked EZ DRUMMER midi samples or addictive drums? :)

We all like toying with new software or believe that a tool could provide us a shortcut on our way to success.
But if one day musicians will realize that fancy plugins and premade samples are the least important factors in creating and recording great original music, it will hit the sound/software companies much harder than any amount of piracy.

    Just my thoughts...

Warez is basically a matrix hack.
You have two options here, ignore it and die or use it,learn a lot with it ,have fun with it and maybe even make it to a pro level and die.
You die anyway,no one will write "Was an upstanding citizen, never used warez" on your grave.
Someone gave you shortcut, will you use it or ignore it,time is limited, the road is hard, the battle is hard and every
tool on this journey can help you to your goal.
I do however believe that people who are serious do eventually buy the software they use, especially if they go pro.
